  1. That really sucks man! Glad you were able to find a replacement. Fortunately the ALL STEEL flatbed on my truck should keep the pesky idiots out of my sheet metal, and the rear is built out of thick steel, so good luck coming through there as well. Full coverage is the way to go!
  2. It's got a header of unknown origin on it that one (or more) of the header pipes going to the collector has separated. I'm going to post a photo of the header, and hopefully be able to determine whether it would be worth trying to fix the header, or find a replacement of the same kind so I don't have to change the down pipe. I would like to make it a 4x4, but that seems like a ridiculous amount of work. I may just give it a lift for the time being once it's a daily and go from there. I'm pretty sure it'll pull about the same mileage as my Volvo 245.
  3. Hello again everyone. Been quite awhile since I was on here. The last time I was around, I had my '81 210 Coupe 5 speed. This time, I've returned with a family heirloom. This was my Grandpa's work truck, a 1980 720 2WD flatbed. It's got an L20 with Offenhauser intake, headers, and a 32/34 Weber, 4 speed and REALLY low rear gears. I'll have it home next week and then the work will begin. I'd really like to take the cab and bed off and make set it up like a factory 4WD truck, as I've read the 2WD frames just won't work well with the factory equipment, and going solid axle is absolutely not happening with the $$ I have. This thing is VERY well used, the seat is completely SHOT, shifter linkage is loose, speedo doesn't work, most of the lights don't work, but then again, it's been sitting for 6 years. I got it started and drove it last week. Needs brakes bled, and some lenses replaced once the lights work... and a new front bumper. I will say that the flatbed part itself was built hell for stout, and is still incredibly solid. What do y'all think?
  4. Checked and re-adjusted timing up a bit for winter driving. Made sure tires were still all inflated, and did some carb cleaning. She's doing much better now! Back up to about 30MPG! w00t!
  5. Gotta get a bigger car.. SO! All you guys who would give a body part for a 2 door Sedan 1980 Deluxe A14 5 SPEED (RFUB310), here is your opportunity! Runs/Drives/Stops! I bought this car for $250, and have done quite a lot of work to it. New tires/wheels, purchased the industrial collars to lower the front spring perches, head-gasket, repaired some wiring, removed the crappy carpet from inside the car, new headlights, full tune-up and a few other niggly things. Tags are good till 2013, and its got a clean title in MY name. Here's what I want... $750 or use as a full/part trade for a mid 80s to early 90s Volvo 245 Wagon. Prefer stick shift 5 speed, though I am willing to look at all options. It does not have to be in spectacular shape, as I am MORE than familiar with them, and any parts I need we've got a ton of 240 series cars out here at the local wrecking yard. If you have a wagon that you think I would want, lets talk, and I may be willing to meet your halfways between us to trade. I am willing to do just about whatever it takes to get this car to someone who will love it. I love this car, but I do need something bigger and safer. I got a new job, and it requires me to drive on a scary bit of road to get there, and I'm simply not comfortable doing it in the Datto. Still trying to get over my last car accident that almost killed me. The rear of the car makes some noise. Not sure if its the gears, bearings, or u joints but my Toyota makes the same noise and its not given me any trouble. The oil in the differential looks good, so who knows. I also have a weber 32/36 DGEV. If you have the "Golden Ticket" (Read: Volvo Wagon) I will throw that in for free. I might throw it in free anyways.... who knows. I really wasn't planning on selling this car, but I need something bigger, safer, and more family friendly. It is located in Salem, OR. I drive it every day. COME GET IT! Pictures are located here: http://community.rat...s-datsun-metal/ Additional pictures/video upon request! Thanks doods!
  6. Now I need an adapter for my A14... don't really want to spend almost $50 bucks for the adapter, I got the carb for $40! Guy didn't know what I was buying... muwahaha! I pulled it off an L20... does anyone have the parts I need to make it lean enough to be A14 friendly? I tried searching the forum for the info, but none of it contains information that I need.
  7. I need a weber adaptor! PM ME!

  8. This is how your DATTO should start! http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid690.photobucket.com/albums/vv263/Raiden7800/VIDEO0005.mp4 Here are some pics of the gutted interior... Not really any rust to speak of. I caught the wet carpet before it started eating my car! More soon!
  9. Yesterday, I gutted the interior. Threw away the nasty carpet, threw away the crappy rusty nasty rear seat, and am now blissful of having non-fogged up Windows. After a call to pumpkin210 while he was likely eating dinner, I got my defroster vents working again, and now have a plan on modifying the air box so that i can eliminate the controls. Thanks pumpkin! Still lots more work to do. Check my build thread for pictures!
  10. Did a whole bunch of work on the car today, mostly pertaining to removing the carpet and back seat, and decided to check my tire pressures. These were filled by the shop I normally go to for my tire needs. Fronts are 36 max, they were filled to 26. Rears are 44 max, they were filled to 25. Hmmmm.... well, I aired them up to 36 front and 40 rear. Car rolls much easier now! Next is to check the distributor and see if there is some fuckery afoot in there too. It hasnt pinged in awhile, so I may bump initial timing a bit. Will have to see what mileage becomes now.
  11. Where was it located good sir? I guess the frustrating part is that there are people selling these parts but no one will respond to me.
