  1. Yes, there shortned almost two inches . So im wondering on what inserts I could use that maybe shorter than the stock ones so that my travel both up an down is minimalized

So I was given a pair of shortened 510 front inserts with coilover sleeves from a friend but the struts are blown and went searching around and found this post http://community.ratsun.net/topic/39512-strut-insert-and-rear-shock-guide/ and was wondering if any of these swaps would work inside the 510 strut tubes , mainly looking for advice on diameter, cuz I'm aware I may need spacers to adjust for heighth , any insight would greatly be appreciated

Since I've gotten my 510 I've looked up to these two dudes , great ppl lots of knowledge and a shared love for 510s, a little old article but still great , some recent news josh kravits(the ka 510) git his pro formula d license last year in his 510(took the year off to build a 240sx platform) and Marcus is about to start his own business, this guy can make anything.   4. If the compression is that low , would it make more sense to just turbo it then, and through the forums on ozdat, not the write up the one done, was actually a daily driver for quite some time
  5. So I've got a ka with a rod knock in my garage and an l20b aswell, and was thinking why not mash them together . Ive read through all I can find on the web about it and to me it seems the most problem with it is rwd vs fwd ka hea( luckily the u.s. has plenty of rwd ka cars) no I'm thinking after the oil gallery is blocked Icould build the lower end to a 2.3l using ka pistons via Jason grey info. Is like to use mega squirt 2 and run a ford escort edis system for the timing . Does anyone have any info on if this might not work or anything I'm missing p.s. pick n pull by me has all the z parts I need aswell plan to make a run today for them , also planing to get it running before thoughts of a turbo so no worries about compression
  6. One that got me thinking was the 2.0l turbo motors from the pontiac solstice or the Saturn sky , 260hp good gas mileage cuz its an eco motor, pretty darn light , and you can get a dealer hop up package to raise it to 290hp for an extra $400 or something
  7. So I have a set of s12(200sx 5lug) front strut assembly I was planning on doing the 240sx coilover swap with , only waiting on funds to buy the bump steer spacers from another member. Now I was talking to a my friend who gave me the struts and he has switched to all 240sx steering and suspension on his 200sx, from what he told me all he needed was the 240sx spindle hub and balk joint and custom tie rods but it all bolted up so I was thinking, is it possible to insert the 240sx ball joint into the 510 lca because if so then wouldnt the spindle and hub work the same as doing the 200sx conversion (minus a custom tie rod) allowing for 240sx cilovers to bolt on rather than welded and opening up more options for brakes and steering modifications

Yeah I just realized about the lcas AMD what not from looking under my car(been working on 240sx lately and got all confused) but thanks for the information on the rcas , and I'm gonna keep the struts cuz I plan on adapting s13 coilovers to them out of a set of powered by max coilovers I got for free

So I was able to pick up an sr20 for a good price and figured now would be the best time to install the late 5lug 200sx struts I am getting from a friend for better braking , my main worry is not to long ago I went spend crazy and bought pretty much everything t3 makes besides their coilovers(lcas, tc rods, outer tie rods, and rcas) and was wondering if all these can still be used with the 200sx struts or not . Luckily I talked to t3 and they said they would do an exchange since none of the parts have even been mounted, thanks in advance for the help
  10. i sit about 2 inches of the ground on lowering springs and massive rear camber and my car handles fine at high speeds. but u turns suck cuz i rub frame at full steering lock and some bumps my tires push into the wheel wells, but thats only cuz my rims are 15x8
  11. me and my buddy cant seem to get his lights wired up right on his 71 2 door 510 , we think its missing something, we can only get the headlights to work and it runs hi and lows when just turning the lows on, also there are two groups of five green wires , one that plugs into the steering column that goes to the blinker rod and the other group we dont know where, it has the female connection but nothing to plug into , could it got to the hazard switch?
  12. hey im over in fort bragg , ca and im really interested in what you got but i need something i can turn into a quick daily driver, so what i need to know is what all needs to be down to get it there . and hows the wiring on the thing cuz ive been tackling my friends for like two months now just to get lights so he can register it , and i dont want to have to do it again

  14. im looking to buy a 2 door or 4door coupe for 3500 or less. my only stipulation is i need a running and drivable vehicle and preferably not a complete rust bucket. im willing to travel anywhere in cali, or oergon to get it . please help me out this has been my dream car since i was 12 and i finally have some money to try for one
