  1. I've got no problem with the track width. I can just change the wheels. I know someone who can lathe down the tension rods also. I thought Beebani's arms were to go with hardbody lowers and spindles. Aren't these wider/longer than the 78 parts? Also, anybody know if colorado wheels fit datsuns? How much would the upper arms cost?
  2. Thanks. I'll try to sell the suspension for what I have in replacement parts and do something else.
  3. I kinda like the narrowed el camino bumper. I wonder how that rack and pinion was done or worked. That might be something nice to try.
  4. I'll try to make this short. I got my 77 kc back from my son this year which was when I joined this forum. I bought the truck about 5 years ago and was told that the 78-79 disc front suspension would bolt on, so we aquired the parts from a parted out truck. Now i foind out from here that it won't fit. It looks to me the lower arms might work with some spacers or the later inner bushings and the uppers appear to bolt on. I also would need to fab a strut rod bracet as the strut rod is longer from the 78, that is easy. I don't mind using the solid rotors for now, as I can upgrade to hb spindles and brakes later. Will this stuff work? What would I need to use most of what I got and save some money. All these parts have already been restored and sitting in the garage for a few years, so there's already a fair amount invested. Thanks for your help, I've picked up alot from you guys already.
  5. Decided to just forget it and replaced the clutch, throwout and put in a nissan roller pilot bearing. Everything work fine now. On to brakes and bodywork.
  6. Sweet, thanks. I also heard from a glassman that you can cut and glue a rear window seal for replacement of the rear side windows on 620 king cabs. Not perfect, but works very well.
  7. Might be a dumb question, but has any body tried building a bracket and putting the alt on the driver's side? If you have no a/c like mine, there looks to be alot of room ther for most any alt.
  8. Yes, you can put the amp under the seat. If your friend's dad is a Fosgate rep, look into the Prime or Punch slim profile 10 inch subs. Measure the space you have carefully and then compute an enclosure. The design of these subs require a very small box, so you can make it from 1/2 inch mdf. make sure you upgrade the alternator before you add the amp. As for the deck, you can do a custom mod and put it in the dash and it will look factory. I did this on mine and I also do installs for a living. You won't be able to reach the deck if you do it underdash because you'll have to put it on the pass side.
  9. Hi! Has anyone ever used a windshield gasket from Route 66 Cruisers? They sell them on ebay for $39.99 plus $10 shipJust ping. I can get one from a guy local for $60. Just wondering, thanks
  10. Thanks. I will try that when the motor cools down. I might just replace the master anyway. It is about 6 years old and they are pretty cheap.
  11. Just bled the system and the adjustment is fine. I fabbed an adjustable actuator rod for the slave and that is good. The piston is almost bottomed out with the clutch disengaged. Also I drained and refilled the trans with new oil when I swapped the clutch.
  12. Hi. I've got a 77 620 KC with a 5 speed trans. A while back the clutch disc dropped a spring. I didn't have the cash for a new clutch kit, so I put in a disc from another kit that I had. The disc is very good with little wear. It was replaced due to a pressure plate issue. What's happening is that when I first start the truck, everything is fine. After it warms up, the clutch won't disengage fully. It seemed like a hydraulic problem, so I replaced the slave and the flex hose. The problem is still there. Do I need to swap the master also, or do I need to save and do a whole clutch kit? Thanks in advance for your help.
  13. I don,t remember what year it's from. The guy did a manual swap and has the auto left from it.
  14. yea, I have the skill to do it. I am just getting lazy and thought there might be a benefit to it.
  15. Hi everybody. New to the forum here. I have a 77 620 l20b w/5speed. I have an opportunity to aquire an automatic from a 240sx. Will it mount to my 620? If so what would I need to do this? Is it worth the effort? Thanks for your time. This group has a lot of useful info and ideas.
