  1. Hey Guys, thanks for supporting our magazine. If anybody is having problems finding Project Car, digital copies are available from zinio.com. Recent back issues are available from them as well. Our 620 was featured in issues 19, 20 and 22. Also, keep an eye out for our next 620 project which will be introduced in issue #23!
  2. I probably shouldn't be showing you this, but here's a little Ratsun love. Let me know what you guys think. Also be a little patient beacuse the shifter/shift knob didn't make it into the upcoming issue.
  3. It's a factory ITB setup from a Pulsar GTIR SR20DET. It had to be redrilled to match the bolt pattern on the RWD SR20 head. The stock plenum was unbolted and a set of velocity stacks were added. It was sourced off Ebay a while back.
  4. Ratsun stickers finally arrived! Should go well on the back window.
  5. Hey guys, Sorry about not stopping by for a while. Been busy putting together the next issue and working on the project cars. I'll start by answering a few qustions. We've been asking for subs for a while but probably won't get them. Subs increase circulation which is good for attracting advertisers but in a soft economy, where ad dollars are weak, we need the newstand sales to pay the bills. The next issue should be out around the middle of July. The engine is finally wired and just fired up. It's running on an EMS-4, AEM's new universal standalone system. It's a pretty cool unit that offers a lot of bang for your buck. With the ITB's, running a factory computer was not feasable; we needed a MAP based system. The complete wiring will be covered in the upcoming issue. The truck will definitely be repping some Ratsun gear. We already have the shift knob and were supposed to get some stickers. Not sure what happened with those but they never arrived. I'll have to follow up on that. If things work out , we might also try to run a set of Beebani's control arms and convert from drum to disk. Thar deal is still being negotiated. I'm looking forward to playing with the shift knob. What I'd like to do is fabricate a custom shifter to go with it. You'll have to be a little patient as that story won't make it into the next issue. Thanks for the Ratsun love and for supporting the book. I'll check back with you guys after wrapping up this issue. -Gary
  6. FYI, if anyone is having a hard time finding the mag locally they can buy it online at http://www.getyomags.com/
  7. Thanks! It would be awesome to make it to Canby but unfortunately it won't fit into my schedule.

  8. That's the crazy one. It's a work in progress and I'm trying to figure out a way to add it to the magazine without getting fired. If I showed it I might have to kill you. Let me think about it.
  9. PM sent. I'll make sure it appears when we feature the exterior of the truck. Thanks!
  10. If you guys can get me one, I'll add it to the truck and feature it in the magazine. Red and black!
  11. You must have met Khai. He works at RPM and helps out with Project Car.
  12. Hey Skib, thanks for contacting me and inviting me to stop by.
  13. I just wanted to pop in to say thanks to those who have picked up a copy of our magazine. As mentioned above, we need the support of communities such as this one in order to continue building these types vehicles. Our magazine is run by a large corporation who only cares about is the bottom line. We pay the bills by selling copies on the newsstand and bringing in advertisers (who also want to see us sell copies). Please understand that I have to put my ass on the line to venture out and build projects such as this one. If the issue tanks, my boss will remind me that I need to stick to mainstream cars such as Hondas in order to sell copies. Personally, I have a passion for Nissans/Datsuns and own two 620s and Roadster. I've also done a lot with the S13/S14 chassis and was one of the first guys in the US playing with RB swaps. Over the past year I've ocassionally visited this site and have drawn a lot of inspiration for the 620 from it. What I enjoy most about Ratsun is that it's a breeding ground for creativity and unlike most automotive forums, does not focus on using expensive parts. Thanks for keeping it real. I'll try to pop in every now to answer any questions that you might have and get some input/suggestions from you guys. I'll start by answering the question about why I selected the SR20DE over a KA. As already mentioned, it's lighter, has a lot of aftermarket support, and is well matched for the lightweight 620. More importantly, I already had the engine and ITB setup sitting around so it was also much cheaper for me to use what i had. As for keeping it NA, this project was more about style and creating something unique than straight performance. Thanks, Gary Narusawa Editor Project Car Magazine
