I had previously checked the choke and it stays close at all times basically. Every once in a while i can get the rpms to drop by goosing the throttle but majority of the time the choke is on which causes it to rev. I will check with a voltage meter today and see what it reads. What sort of power should i be seeing at the choke?
Some may remember i have been having problems with my idle staying around 1800 rpms due to i believe a choke issue and i was wondering if replacing the carbureator choke pull off and the carb choke thermostat could help remedy the situation. thoughts?
Yes That is exactly the problem. The choke plate stays fully closed the entire time. So I need to figure out why the auto choke relay is malfunctioning
yeah i checked everything for binding issues but it all moves fine. i lubed everything up and it made no difference. I think it is the autochoke...it's the part that is like a little butterfly valve within the carb. it has its own seperate linkage. also another issue is that the idle is unable to be adjusted (most likely becauase of this problem). I also added in some seafoam to help clean out the carb itself to see if that helps any. it's just weird because it was working fine (although the idle was high) and then suddenly it just started acting up and revving to 2k. the truck is driveable but it sure kills the gas mileage!!
Ok guys i had posted a while ago that my truck was having some idling issues so i finally decided to try and figure out why. Well i have narrowed it down the automatic choke. It seems as though the choke stays on and will not turn off by just goosing the throttle like normal. It stays on all the time and makes the truck idle at 2000rpms. Now if i disengaged the automatic choke by hand the truck will idle just fine at around 1000rpms. now i am trying to find out if this is a standard easy fix issue with the 720 or if it is complicated (carb rebuild/ replace) or if i can somehow disengage the auto choke permanently. what do you guys suggest?
truck is an 82 4x4
See that's what I'm thinking. My rims are 10" wide and stick out past the body like an inch or so and it would be nice to have stock width and offset. Do stock frontier or pathfinder rims fit?
also i was wanting to maybe address some of the rubbing issues i have with my current rim/tires setup. I have 31's and was wanting to have a thinner rim with less backspacing but do you guys think it would then rub on the inside as opposed to the outside of the wheel well which is the problem i am experiencing now?
Ok guys i really don't like my eagle alloys that came on my truck. I feel they are tooo wide and stick out past the body which i don't like so i was hoping to eventually find some stock nissan truck wheels that will fit so that the backspacing isn't as ridiculous and puts less stress on my steering (hopefully). Any suggestions as to what will fit? heck i would trade wheels with someone locally if interested. san diego area.
