  3. Sellers Name: Matthew Humphrey Description of item: 280z Shell and 300zx motor Price: 800 obo Location: Tennessee Best way to contact: Email at Trigunskater@aol.com or text at 8653827409 Ok so here is my 280z shell i had bought to do a vg30et swap. Unfortunately I no longer have the time or funds to do it. The shell will come with the engine and trans from a 84 300zxt. The trans is the borg warner 5 speed. Motor will need to be rebuilt and no longer has the turbo manifold or turbo. The car is pretty solid. has a little rust in the floors but not much. it was already cut out to prevent the spread of the cancer. I do not have the title to the car it got lost several years ago. in some states this is not an issue in some its a long process but doable. The car has all good glass and it also has a Jim Cook widebody. I had thought about dropping a v8 in it but as i said no time or money. So if you are interested in this shell at all just let me know. Im negotiable on price. I just dont want it to sit and rot. Would trade for 1995-1998 240sx coilovers or ka24de performance parts.
  4. Im going to stick with the VG30ET mostly because its only been done a hand ful of times and sets the car up basically as a Front Mid-engine vehicle allowing for more work space. The VG30ET also has a better head design allowing for better airflow and a higher power threshhold
  5. i have a spare 280zx motor and trans sitting around but it needs a ton of work. The vg30et with my holset hx35w with big injectors should be capable of around 450 hp
  6. Yes there are several 510s but there is one in particular that i want. It belongs to a friend of mine here in knoxville. Its a 1969 I believe. But it has a carbed Mazda 13b rotary motor. I probably will stick with this datsun. Most of my trades have sadly been out of necessity
  7. It really depends. This one of the few cars ive had on my wish list for a long time. There are only two cars i would ever trade this for and finding them is rare. So probably a long long time. The only 2 cars I would trade for would be a 2 door 510 or an old school Mazda RX4
  8. Thanks. Yea i got really lucky with this one. I would trade it for the right 510 though lol
  9. In the summer of 2008 I wrecked my 1995 Ford Probe after a long night of no sleep and rainy conditions. After looking for about 2 weeks I found a beautiful 1992 Jamaica Yellow Firebird. I drove the car around and loved it until while at a small car show i was offered a 1992 240sx coupe se for trade. So I did it. He didnt have the title yet so I held on to mine as well. Good thing because as it turned out he owed 1300 dollars on the car. So I found a buyer for the 240sx. Sold it for 3500 and paid it off. Took the remaining 2200 on a 1988 10th anniversary rx7. I drove it and loved it more than I had loved any other car that I had ever owned. Then the coolant seals blew. I traded the Rx7 back for the Firebird. I drove the firebird for a while again and then was offered a 1985 Mercury Cougar as well as a 1987 Conquest TSI. Obviously I traded. The Conquest is still sitting in Jacksboro as I write this. So Im driving a POS cougar for a while and the motor gives. I took the car to the junkyard and got 298 dollars. I took that money and purchased another 240sx coupe se. Put around 200 in it and got running smooth. I promptly traded the car for a 1990 240sx Hatchback. I soon traded that 240sx for a 1988 Supra turbo. The mainbearings were shot so I traded for a 1995 Honda Civic Hatchback. I promptly sold the Civic (I hated it) and bought another 240sx Hatch. Only having the new 240sx Hatch for 2 months or so I was offered a beautiful 1974 Datsun 260z 2+2. I was in Georgia the next day. When I got the car it ran a little rough because the fuel system was trashed. I got a couple of 240z carbs and slapped them on and almost instantly it felt like a different car. So responsive and it felt amazing. Then my lust for power set in. I made a plan to swap in something that had never been swapped before. A Mazda Turbo Rotary. After several set backs that idea was scrapped. Then a light at the end of the tunnel. I was offered a 300zx Turbo (the full car) for 200 dollars. I jumped on it. From the car I am pulling the engine, transmission, rearend, hubs, rotors, calipers and rims to use on my car. I also will be stripping the 300 for parts to sale. Hood, fenders, lights, bumpers, some interior pieces, and the suspension.
