  1. So I have a motor out of a 98 Frontier. I have it in, motor mounts all bolted up in my 74 620, go to put the cross member and center link back in and they hit the oil pan. what are some things people have done to remedy this issue? I have read about cutting the motor mounts and moving them but everywhere I read that it was people lowering the car KA. I have also read about people hammering the oil pan in a bit again only read about this with people using the car KA. I only need about 1/2 inch more clearance. I am thinking about using the hammer method but would like to see what suggestions you fellow motor swappers have before I go ruin my pan.
  2. Well I got my front lowered down, but I have not taken and pictures of it yet. but do not fear I started my motor swap and I do have come pictures of that. I just got the motor out should be starting to put the KA in next weekend. I need to go get a few items still MAF, Fuel pump, and a few other small items. I am sure I will need more. This is my first motor swap so I am learning as I go. Drained the coolant. looks a little dirty to me. The motor waiting to be unbolted from the transmission. Motor out.
  3. I lucked out and didn't have to look for one as I got mine from a friend.
  4. Got my wheels and tires mounted and installed on the truck. I really need to get the front lowered a bit to match the rear. I found its a lot easier to turn with these tires on, i was thinking it was going to be harder since they are wider than what i had on there. now its time to order the disk brake conversion goodies.
  5. I have two wiper arms that I do not need. The wipers are kind of junky so i will probably take them off unless someone really wants them. They are located in Pleasant Grove, Ut. I am asking $30 shipped in the lower 48
  6. Installed my drop blocks, i need to take the front down a little more now. My new tires showed up yesterday so i will be getting those mounted to my 17's and put on my truck. I also got a 240sx Intake, wiring harness, and ECU. so time to get swapping intakes and getting ready for the motor swap. I also picked up some actuators from the junk yard so i can add power locks.
  7. I picked up my KA24DE today. The hunt for an ECU and wiring harness begins. who needs drop blocks when you can just put a motor in the bed? Here is a shot of the motor and trans.
  8. I bid on a 240sx KA24de harness and ECU on ebay. I have read about differences between the 91-94 240's and the 95-98 240's. the one i bid on is a 91-94. I kinda bid before I did all my homework but I am the winning bidder currently but am kind of hoping I get out bid in case this harness is not the right one. I plan on doing the 240sx intake swap if i can find one.
  9. Thanks for the input. No clunking or strange sounds I will just keep en eye on it.
  10. Its a truck KA, I am not sure when the swap will start, Its my daily driver currently since my blazers fuel pump took a dump and I do not feel like dealing with it currently. I also need to track down and ECU and wiring harness still. as far as the LSD its lower on the list, I trust the kid that says he has one in there.
  11. so I was changing the fluid in my diff, it looked pretty nasty and there was all this goodness on the drain plug. It looked like little metal flakes. Should I be looking at replacing parts back there soon? It is not very focused sorry. you can kind of see the flakes on the rag
  12. I have a fan shroud, steering wheel, and dog dish hub caps that I do not need. If you do not like the price make an offer. These are located in Pleasant Grove, Utah Fan shroud $10 +shipping - SOLD Steering wheel $20 +shipping. The other center part $5 +shipping or 25 +shipping for both. Dog Dishes 30 +shipping. 3 are in good shape, but one is scraped up pretty good(its the bottom right one). - SOLD
  13. My plans for this little guy are get the back dropped 2-3 inches to match the front then shorten up my bump stops. Install the KA24DE that I am picking up next weekend Get some new rubber for my new wheels and get them installed. That's the list for now. Here it is when I brought it home. The "new" wheels I picked up for it. 17" Titan wheels if you don't know. With and with out the ugly bumper.
  14. I will give that a try before I head the junkyard, thanks Mike.
