Things are moving ahead. Tach looks good in dash, and Skib's console is installed and being put to use. Ran compression and all is within a couple of pounds each. Canopy is gone, rear turd is gone, radio is about to go in. (love the old push button am, but I'm such a modern guy...) Pics are coming, relax.
  4. Yeah man we can meet up sometime. Im new to the Datsun realm myself. Been a honda guy since forever lol. Im always down to meet up with fellow Datsuners.

  5. Hello,

I'm in Eugene, with a "new" 620 that used to belong to River Road parks and Rec.

I've got 40 years on you, and my beer is cold.

Slide by sometime and let's talk about our trucks. I also used to have a CRX, and miss it. '92 Miata now, Vespa on the way.

  6. I just went thru this. The round light a few comments up could go thru a hole in the top of the plate that holds the license plate. Single wire, self ground. The earlier comment is also on track. As I took off my bumper with the round light as shown above, I discovered the fixed light mounted up and under the taligate. It too is single wire, thus easy to hook up. For pics, dig this link: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/29393-license-plate-and-light/ good luck
  7. Diesel Thanks, I feel the love. Let's see if I get smarter as I age. and
  8. Well, since I was asked... Here is a before and after. I prefer after... http://i34 http://i342
  9. I just dropped my bumper as well. Won't be replacing it. I found that light up under the body. It has only a hot wire, and evidently is self grounding, so connecting it was easy. Nice pic. Fun discovery. And much better fuel efficiency with that 50 lbs gone...
  10. With 15 years working in financial institutions before my present life I suggest this. Any place you have credit with can check for you to see if any inquiries have been made. Also, running a credit check for yourself will also show any inquiries. You've for sure been told a lot, and the notices to the reporting agencies are a required early step. It will take many months of vigilance, as there is a market for credit info, and many times a checkbook for instance will be sold numerous times. In general, Credit Unions as places to conduct business have numerous advantages. Beyond saving you significant $, and keeping your money in your own community, they treat you as a member, not a customer. This is reflected in service. Lastly, while it is fine to give testimonials about how we avoid any credit and live with only cash transactions, many of us don't live with only cash. Credit and such has numerous advantages as well. And it's not much fun kicking anyone who has the blues. Good Luck.

Skib You started this by selling me your console. Now I have a tach as well. I'm looking to eliminate or replace the back bumper, any laws saying I need one here in Oregon? A general Q: I'm leaning toward a new Weber but have some questions. Anyone in Eugene? Also, I got a bid of $300 on a re apholstery of my bench seat. Sound about right? Any knowledgible Datson mechanics in Eugene that anyone knows? I could go on...

Been around about 4 weeks. Owned a 320 back in the '70s, now a new owner of this '78. I like older rigs, as I have a chance to work on them. And I need a truck since my Miata doesn't do boards well. I'm in Eugene, and will buy lunch if anyone wants to meet up and let me ask 237 questions... Here are some pics.
  14. I like the visor. Any leads on finding one of those for my '78?
  15. Do you have a front wind shield? I'm in Eugene and could come and get it. Thanks
