  1. Sweet truck dude. I was shocked to see the Maryland plate! I've never seen another 520 or 521 in Maryland.
  2. If that works thats pretty cool. i never really thought about it. BTW, I hate that hood. I know he needed it for clearance but still....
  3. That truck looks the business! RHD is pretty sick. I thought about doing it to mine, but i already have enough on my plate. The original RHD dash is what makes it looks so good.
  4. Cool. I love vw's, esp. aircooled stuff. Its funny how you can buy just about anything for them for next to nothing. Complete opposite of the Datsuns. Hahaha
  5. The notch height all depends on what size wheel and tire combo you'll be running. Five inches might be enough or it might be overkill. It's something you'll have to measure once you have an idea of what your wheel and tire diameter will be. This is especial important if your mounting the bags directly over the rear axle. If the notch is to high in this case it will take much more air pressure to get you truck to your desired ride height. Just measure carefully and everything should be cool. Kenny P.S. I just noticed in your profile you have a 69 bug. I just bought my wife a 77 standard beetle, which i beleive was the last year for them in the US. Any plans for that?
  6. No offense dude, but a body drop is a pretty invovled thing to try to tackle. I've seen your other treads (I mean this in the nicest way possible, for real.) I dont think you ready to do this. Think about it, you could render your truck useless in a matter of hours if you dont know what your doing. I do have some pics of my truck (521), which is body dropped. But i wasnt the one who body dropped, although i wish i would have been. I'm ashamed to even put the pics up of that though. I guess it would be a good "what not to do" haha! Good luck man. BTW, i mono-leafed my nissan hardbody a few years ago. If you deside to go that route, i recommend the old school air shock method. You shouldnt really use them to support the full weight of you truck but if you just use them to give you a little lift out of driveways, speed bumps, etc. It should be ok. And they are pretty cheap. like $80 if i remember right. But remember you are going to bottom out on EVERYTHING and it will ride like crap.
  7. Really clean work man. BTW, your toyota is so sick.
  8. I REALLY like it in the third picture down, but it just looks really hacked up from every other angle. (btw, I really shouldnt be the one to talk about hacked up trucks.) I guess I've just seen so many trucks like this that never get finished or even beyond this stage. I dont know.
  9. The two tone looks awesome. I've been tossing the two tone idea around for quite sometime. It's nice to see it actually done. Good job man.
  10. I'm really digging this truck. The dash is just awesome.
  11. It can be fixed dude. I've seen and repaired worse than that. I would cut away at the rusted metal until you reach clean metal. If you have a sheet metal shop in your area; they might be able to help you out by bending some filler panels. It wont be a perfect fit, but it would get you close enough to work with. I wouldnt scrap it. From the other pictures, it looks like the rest of the car is in pretty good shape.
  12. I JUST bought a '77 beetle today. I'll be fixing it up for my wife. We went to look at it this morning. The guy has boxes and boxes of stock and aftermarket stuff he's giving me with it. That's a cool bug. I'm not much in to the baja stuff but it's pretty sweet.
  13. That thing is awesome! I cant image what it would be like driving that.
  14. It wont latch and the door wont stay shut. If I play with the latch a little it might work a to hold the door shut, but as soon as you open the door it stops working again. I think its just worn out.
