  1. Just adjusted the Valves on the j13. Truck is running like a champ. Thanks Ratsun for helping me get my truck back on the road! I wouldn't have been able to do it with out you guys.
  2. The engine work was done by a machine shop called clarks in cupertino, ca. They provided the crank bearings, valves stuff. The rest I picked up, pistons, rings, water pump, timing chain kit. Rock auto was a good place to find parts. The other place is on ratsun from other owners. Most everyone goes to a bigger engine so you can find used engine with reusable parts like oil pump, cam, which don't really exist anymore. Hope that helps feel free to pm me if you have a question.
  3. I blew the engine last November after just owning it a month. Up until just about 2 weeks ago did I finish. It took me month or so of hand sanding after work and then I had to wait for the right weather and money to afford paint. Reason why was all my money was tied up in the engine machine work. A friend of mine sprayed the truck engine bay in a day. Unfortunately I didn't have enough paint left over for the door, but we were able to paint the fender wells as wells. I currently have 500 miles on the rebuild so time for a oil change and valve adjust.
  4. Here are some more pics of the project as it progressed.
  5. Here is a picture of the completed J13 project. I already have 500 miles on it.

    electric fan?

I finished my j13 set up but wasn't able to salvage the fan that used to be on the engine. Any recommendations for electric fan set up for a 521with a j13 or does anyone have ideas for a fan clutch with the original shroud. thanks.
  7. here is the plate. I guess I have to take the flywheel off again. Hence the damit plate right.
  8. I will take pictures when I get home tonight. Thanks in advance for your help guys.

    damit plate

so I got my J13 dropped into the engine bay and realized that I had this plate left over that goes somewhere between the engine and transmission. It's some kind of dust cover I believe. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get this plate back on. thanks
  10. Can I use a clutch alignment tool from a 240sx? Are there any other clutch alignment tools that will work if the 240sx one my friend has doesn't? thanks.
  11. Here is a video of a puller a guy made to remove a stuck drum. ------> You can also buy a puller for 60 dollars ---->http://www.eastwood.com/brake-drum-remover.html?srccode=ga140070&gclid=COTW-unLoKkCFQEHbAodL2bVsw hope this helps

I like the red wheels. Nice find. What did you use to fill the holes of the dash in?
  13. Here is another picture of the engine bay from above and a front a back picture of the paint can.
  14. I will post a pic of the paint can when I get home. I sanded it all by hand, because I had the time and patience.
