  1. Ok finally got it! After I got the carb on and started tuning it up the starter decided to crap out on me...so after everything (carb and adapter plate, dizzy and gear, starter, new muffler, battery, getting and making linkages for the carb, and changing out the fluids) I finally won! Thank you all for your help!! I cannot tell you how much it is appreciated...here are the pics of the final product and almost all of the junk I got to toss. I also made a few modifications to to throttle cable plate/holder to make it even and fit with the new carb
  2. Awesome! Sealik I had posted this thread before I had messaged you but thanks a lot for posting the pics on here as well :) I had figured that was the way the carb is suppose to be mounted on this truck but when I saw that pic with the carb installed backwards it got me very worried so I thought smart to ask first!
  3. So I have found 2 pics online of webers on z24's...but both were different?? One had the carb on with the linkage facing out towards the radiator and the other had the linkage facing back towards the cab of the truck...Which is the correct way to hook up it up?? LOL I am getting all confused more than I was this morning...I know depending on which way the carb is to be bolted to the intake manifold will determine which way the trunnion is put on but which way...? Ok so where the cable runs should be facing down towards the ground like this....? Or should be facing up towards the sky like this...?
  4. Hello again to all :) I am still working on this very long process of installing a Weber carb on to my '84 Nissan 720 z24..I was wondering if anyone had pics available of how exactly the linkage is suppose to be hooked up on this engine...I had boughten just the carb off of a friend and am in the process of piecing it together but without the help of instructions (or my friend not knowing anything about Nissan's) it is making this process quite a difficult one...I have got everything for the carb (air filter, adapter plate, extra hoses, etc) but do not have the linkage set up that apparently comes only in the conversin kit from Weber.. If I could get a pic of how the linkage is suppose to be set up on this engine with the use of the stock linkages I will be golden (or at least I think I will be)! Thanks in advance!
  5. Thank you very much for looking! I was finally able to get a pic posted up so I can insert it on here.....Here is the type of mirror I am looking for
  6. How do you put pics in with a post? I have not figured this out yet.. Dailydato that would be completely awesome if you still have a set! I am quite found of the oversize mirrors that are on it and would love to keep em! Motavated I do not have and 620 parts sorry :( I am a newbie into the datsun and Nissan world
  7. I am looking for the passenger mirror and possibly whole assembly for my 1984 Nissan 720..I have not had very much luck locating any that are like the ones on my truck...it is not the littler sport like mirrors that I see on so many of these but more of like a camper or trailer type mirror for the truck. The passenger mirror had rusted right off of it's holder. :( If you happen to have an extra laying around I would be more than happy to take it off your hands! I cannot figure out how to put up a pic of what I am talking about but if you look at the pics I have on my profile you can see what type of mirror I am searching for. Thank you :)
  8. Update: took the stock carb off and inspected further and found it cracked and very worn out...I also found out from a friend that I am indeed missing a linkage..I was able to find a rebuilt weber for $80 and I ordered the adapter plate. Thank you all for your help! It is much appreciated!
  9. Oh and I also posted pics finally :)
  10. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back and give an update! Ok so here's what is going on.. I performed a compression check before anything else and read 140-150. Inspected some more for vacuum leaks and none still seem to be present.. I sprayed the carb down and made sure nothing was sticking or binding. Everything seems to be working fine but I was wondering if anyone had a picture of all the throttle linkage and springs etc..it looks like I am missing a couple of pieces as far as linkage goes but I am not positive Thanks for the help!
  11. Yeah the throttle cable is on the right/pass side of the engine compartment but still all very helpful pictures :)
  12. Oh ok gotcha! Looks simple enough to do now that I know what I am looking at and what it should look like
  13. Wow awesome pics thank you! I will spray it all down and give er a good cleaning tomorrow and see what happens :) Haha that's all good sealik! What exactly is the trunnion? Ha wow I sound like a total newbie..never really had to dig into the carb world this much before..
