Hi I have some leftover stuff frome my 71 521. 1. 1 frount bumper, real nice. 2. 1 rear bumper, ok with hitch ball. 3. 2 chevron mirrors, ok. 4. a pile of new brake shoes, carb stock. 5. 4 stock rims no tires. nice. needs clean up and paint. 6. 1 oil filter. I think thats it, Make a offer or i will trade for motorcycle stuff. My truck is gone and want this stuff to go to you guys. I will miss my 71 521. Thanks Flywheel

Ok 1971 521 stock 1600 with a new webber. Runs grate, little low on power but not even a miss. Today I was in trafic when it started to over heat, So I headed back to the shop it was smoking a bit (Blue and was faint. Not heavy.) Then it stoped, The smoke and it cooled down. It was only missing a little water and the oil looks good.(no water in it) So I drove it home on the freeway. Trafic was good was doing about 70mph did fine. when I got to my house the oil looks a little high. Truck was cold sat for 3 hours. water was where it was befor. When I went to the store it was fine then it started to get warmer and the heat felt like it was blowing on low but it was off. Im thinking im going to lose a headgasket. any one deal with this befor? Thanks

I mite trade my porsche for a 1600 roadster, Both are projects. Are these cars hard to work on? and what about parts, are they ez to come by. It's a 1969. Cant wate to see it. Now I will have 2 datsuns.

The green one looks like the one I had in 1990. miss the wagon. Why cant I find this in Tacoma. I would push them home. Someone go get them, I will buy the green wagon.

I will check the timming today, I found the specks for the valve adjust and I know they are to tight now. I will spend some time setting things right. Thanks.

My L16 was ticking real bad, oil was good so I did a valve adj. Now the engine is quiet but the gen light comes on when its at a idle. at first it keeped dying. think they are to tight? but it runs real smooth. any how still love it. someone was in this not to long ago. real clean inside.

Ok I keep seeing thing like 210 heads. Where could I go to find what numders are what and where they are on the part. Like heads, cams ect. I have a stock L16, stock 4speed and stock rear axel. but as I try to beef it up I would like to know what the hell im doing. Is there a book? How about a website? I have a lot of questions, but I know they have been asked and answered. So give it up Ratsun guuruus. P.S. Drove the 1971 521 150 miles so far not a prob, dose 70 to 75mph cruze up and down I5 just fine. Im so hooked.

Ok I took a look at the brakes and found every thing is new, Pads, springs, wheel cyl and adjusters. I found broken adjusters. stripped threads. You could adjust the pad but once you step on the brake pow it just shoots in. The truck came with some extras. So all good now. Thanks

When I drive the truck forward and step on the brakes the rear starts to drag real bad. I stop put it in reverse, back up a little then hit the brakes they go free. until I stop forward. I looked at them, every thing looks new. The only thing that was out was they seemed lose. Like the shoes are not adjusted right. I adjusted one side did not help. any ideas?

Ya I like the green and it would buff out nice, but the rust in the pass door is real bad.(see pic) Yap that was a coat hanger, used to open the hood. Hade a MRgasket fuze block. But it came with a new stock one with the cover. It came with a new webber, alt, water pump, brake shoes,drums,wheel cyl and springs, frount engine gasket kit, timming chain. Wiring is perfect. every thing works, even the am raido.(Im keeping it in). All glass is grate. new tires on frount are new. Only thing in side messed up is driver side of bench, just a little. the dash has cracks and driver side door panal is not perfect. head liner is mint. Drove it last night, was real sweet. What did I pay for it? Well I gess natta, zip, zero. Got in a trade. I got a mazda 323 for $200. traded it for a 74 harley sporty engine and a twin cam topend sold the topend for $500. and traded the engine for the truck. I got a grate deal. Hi Im Flywheel. I just got my first Datsun pu. Its a 1971 521, its all stock. Green ,1600. Looks like crap. It did not run or most the lights did not work. I got it on Monday and I have it running and all the lights are working. stripped the bumpers and the rack in the bed. It has rust, only in the lower doors and tailgate. pass door is real bad. I mite have pics. I will try to post them. Its going flat black and a lowering job, witch i have read some posts about this and I think I have it coverd. The truck came with a factory manual. Real cool stuff.
