    1st attempt at body work

got them off my secret : undo bolts untill the top spins jack up the bed so there is a small amount of space in between the frame and mount then sawzall blade in to the space and bob's your uncle did take me 4 or 5 hours to discover this tip and remove the bolts from start to finish but i did stop and play with the dogs run a call and eat lunch the gas tank and lights are still attached so that is for tomorrow getting there slowly

    1st attempt at body work

body work , rust , restore, clean there is a large hole in the front of the bed when i bought the truck and the guy i got it from was using the truck to haul mulch that has leaked through and is sitting all along the top of the frame got the 2 back bolts out with just a 1/2" driver the 2 on the drivers side are turning ....those top metal shims/nuts are spinning in the pockets and i am understanding the PITA that these are and you cant get a grinder or sawzall in the mount thinking of pulling the dremel out and cutting the nut in half or trying the chunk of metal in the pocket trick i saw someone mention on this forum doing a search now but if there are any tricks or tips ......I would appreciative the advice thanks ratsun brother'n
  10. 1976 datsun 620 This was my 1st welder and my 1st time doing ANY kind of body work when I get to a point where I am not welding, grinding, repeat I will try using bondo I have decided that the next move to make everything easier is to pull the bed off Am I right in understanding that on the 76 the fuel tank is attached to the bed and not the frame rail?? Stay tuned in I am sure that there is going to be plenty of questions as I dig into the truck further and further
