  1. Had a similar problem with a different vehical years ago. Turn headlights on, extra load, did not like, Brake aplication, did not like! Rear two plugs lean, front okay. Solution IN MY case was a leaking diaphagm on the brake booster master. Fuel air mix was first sucked off the rear cylinders, leaning the mix, foward cylinders were better. Second bet, do the comp test, these heads can have cracks/warps and leak between cylinders. But I must say, if it makes you feel any better you have posed a good riddle. Hirns(Aussie)
  2. Well after a bit of searching I've found that the Nissan Gazelle (australia)/Silvia/200sx type 1, 2000 roadster and nissan bluebird(210?) TRX all had the H190 LSD. The TRX here in Australia were quite popular, I'm hoping to source one through a wrecker for about $100(I'm in a country area). Thanks for the input. Must first place the 620 cab upon the 720 frame and mod the radiator support for a bigger radiator to suit an L series engine. Hirns (Aussie)
  3. Anyone know what they retail for??? A locked diff is certainly not the way to go for a daily driver. However, I take my hat off to Kiznook as there are very few threads on this forum where he hasn't given me a laugh(he was joking wasn't he???:)
  4. Can't find that link, cansomeone direct me. Hirns (Aussie)
  5. Are there any direct swap in LSD's to replace the factory H190 diff on the 620/720's. Hirns (Aussie)
  6. Hirns

    cut chop rebuild?

Not sure if the first is a photchop, looks like the bed has been shortened to place it on a 4X4 frame. Anyone know what those mirrors are off??? Hirns (Aussie)
  7. A 1972 Hillman Hunter GT which I picked up for $500. Had twin sidedrafts, headers, discs on the front all factory. It was years ahead of its time. And it was faster to 60mph then any of my mates V8's.:D Hirns (Aussie)
  8. Can you post some pics of your radiator mount mods? Hirns (Aussie)
  9. If anyone has pics of the pre 75 straight across the top radiator support panel then that would be of assistance. The Aussie version is straight accross the top. Hirns (Aussie)
  10. Sorry, noticed three seconds after last post. The radiator appears to be offset from the centerpoint towards your passenger side. Can you please provide the measurements for how far the rad is offset to the pasanger side. Hirns:eek:
  11. Thanks for the pic of the core support, where the green arrows are in your pic, the radiator is taken forward towards the front. In Australia the bend is towards the rear mounting the radiator closer to the smaller engine. It's almost as if it was pressed in reverse except out mounting colums are square and and only 470mm(18.3 inches) apart. Can I please ask for a further favour. Can you please tell me the width between the two sides, the top looks wider than the top. It's funny how the driver's side of the mount comes lower in your pic (below the green arrow) then on the other side. In Australia this is on the same side despite the steering swap and I can't see for what purpose.
  12. Thanks Guys I'm off to a start. So the L1600 to L1800 is straight across (at top), same as Australia, except here there then is a cowled section 2inch inwards untill the radiator mount point. So if the 2L motors had the extra bend in the front mount for the three core how do my US counterparts upgrade to a 2L without changing the rad support panel? Hirns (Aussie)
  13. PLEASE guys, getting desperate!! I badly need pics of the front radiator mounts/Radiator support panel on the US 620. In Australia we had a different front radiator mount panel to suit the Datsun J15(forklift motor). To install a L series engine I need to modify this support panel to something like in the US and pics will provide me with a place to start. The J15 has dropped a ring and would like to convert to an Lseries ASAP. Hirns (Aussie)
  14. The chassis mounting poits are the same, it is a straightforward swap. When ready I will provide you with the 13 or so steps to complete the job. The hardest part is lifting the cab high enough to clear the air filter, think about your hoist height, shed roof height etc. Alternatively drop the air from the tyres or remove wheels to get the truck as low as possible. Hirns (Aussie)
  15. Have you done this? Hirns(Aussie)
