About Me

Hey there, I'm Derek and I have the fortune of driving the gorgeous, prissy Lucille - a '72 510 wagon. She was my first car....my third car....and now my sixth and present daily driver. She was passed on to me from my Dad's friend who gave her to me, running, for $500. I was 16 yo. Now 21, I have grown since then, and I have also grown with her, our relationship deepening with every drive. Luckily she upheld my immaturity as a man, and a driver / mechanic, long enough for me to grow up and shed the early complacency and inexperience.

Most recently, my dad installed the new l20 engine in her home of Lower Lake, CA, so I could drive her up to Portland. It was a difficult process for both of us - especially since I couldn't use my hands at all. Long Long story short: she and I made it safely to Portland. A 12-hour venture that I will never forget, my face fixed smiling the entire drive. Presently, she gets me to Oregon City for school, Vancouver for studio time, and Downtown Portland just for the sake of cruzing. I am steadily enhancing a variety of areas of her. Soon she will outwardly reflect the gorgeous soul that I feel every time i sit in the front seat. :)

L20b bored
U67 head
weber 32 / 36 moded
doglegged 5speed tranny
roadster clutch

Soon to be installed:
280zx front suspension / brake conversion
7 spoke rims off 240sx painted black
new weber 32 / 36 upgrade ( so I return my dad's)
interior floorbored finished with bed liner
interior plaid door pannels
280zx tranny / cut driveshaft
front seats

Much love and many thanks to my dad for helping me get her wheels moving again. He did an unbelievable job. Without his wisdom and saccrifice I could not have done it in such a short time and still have my job - period. The inexplicable, fixed grin that inevitably smirks while I drive her down SE Belmont in Portland - far away from her longtime home - is a gift that I will never be able to put into words, and can not thank my dad enough for providing that for me.
