  1. Wow, I just read through this, the work you have done to every part of this is amazing, but I can't get over those flares. They look so right on there, they look factory, but better. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see the finished product.
  2. That is a beautiful Z, I love the color combo with those wheels. What kind of seats are those? Are they a factory seat from a bmw like an e30 or something? How well do they fit and how do they feel? It looks amazing.
  3. I'm in, mainly cause that's rough enough I would have probably walked away or parted it out. Don't get me wrong, I like a challenge, but that's gonna be a battle there. Good luck, hope to see the progress! And welcome. (first post had pics, nice job)
  4. Are these the same as the wheels that are sold under XXR, SportMaxx and a couple other brands? If so, i know a few people running them, but not for track use, you get what you pay for.
  5. That should be a tatoo... just sayin..

    First Z Car

Just a tip I learned from personal experience, you don't want to run the electric fuel pump in that location. I burned up 3 on my 260z i had mounted in the same location before talking to a local engine builder. He told me even the cheaper fuel pumps will last a lot longer when located closer to the fuel tank, because after they sit over night the fuel can bleed back to the tank and then the line is essentially dry the next time you start, and the pump has to pull all the way from the tank to the front of the car. He also told me most fuel pumps work better as a pusher from the back to the front and it creates more strain on the pump to pull that far all the time. After I relocated that cheap fuel pump to the back of the car i never had a fuel pump problems, and I ran a $25 pump from Oriellys for a long time after that. So not trying to tell you how to build your car, but just offer some advice to keep it a bit more reliable so you dont have to worry about that pump again. And that looks like a great start of a 240z, and a great look bmw. Have fun with the Z
  7. Perfection... cars don't get any more beautiful than that right there
  8. Love the early skylines, very jealous of your car. I bet that little thing will scoot with the sr20 in it. Can't wait to see where this goes
  9. I love seeing updates to this build, the level of detail is impressive. Sadly I can't have a multi-year build, I don't have the attention span. How do you get the gold/yellow zinc plating done? Who can do this? I've never heard of it being redone, is it expensive? This is the kind of detail that puts a restore over the top
  10. on that note, there was a licensed and drivable 27 t-bucket in Kansas City with an L24 a while back, i called on it just because it sounded interesting and was priced cheap, he said he sold it for $3000, so you're not alone Chuck.
  11. very cool, i wanna see this car rolling again. i have a soft spot for 260z's since that was my first datsun. interesting paint on this one. wish i could help but the fuel system was completely modified on mine, electric pump, clifford intake, and a holley 4 barrel. good luck tho, i'm sure someone on here can point you in the right direction, might try google searching under hood pics of 260z
  12. the detail in this is just amazing, great work man! keep it up,i want to see finished product!
  13. just read this whole thread, now i am sad to reach the end, lol. looks killer man, glad to see the progress on it
  14. i figured that, but the guy selling is my room mate so all i had to do is throw a shoe at him and ask. and the only number on the butterfly is a 175 and a tiny square inside a square
  15. asked and he believes they are 44's they came of a race built 240z with a 2.8 but thats all we know. can't reach the guy he bought them from he moved but the guy was serious autocross racer, so if he said 44's i think he knew his stuff
