Yeah, I think I am going to find a coilover setup that will work on the front, and Im still not sure on the rear yet. The engine is in really good shape so Im trying to decide what route I am going to go with it.

Here are a couple of pics. We went over the car real good and the only rust is in the lower corner of the drivers door which you can see in the pic.

I am new to the Datsun scene and need some advice. I just got a FREE 1978 Datsun 510....(not the most sought after I know) with a L20B. What are some good mods for this motor? Any links or advice would be greatly appreciated.

yep, solid rear axle with coils.... thats a good question, I wonder if I could use 200sx front and rear lowered coils?

You can usually buy them from your local auto parts store. You will get 2 blocks and depending on the block size, you should get longer U-bolts with them.

If the front struts are the same as the 200, is it possible to use 200 lowered coils also? I know these are probably stupid questions but I need all the help I can get

My 4 door has a solid axle in the rear....... I will do some digging on this to see what springs I can use to lower her down a couple of inches. I dont want to cut the springs, I would rather do it the right way

Ok, just checked... the rear is coil spring......

Also, yes the car has the L20B, is there a 5 speed trans that will bolt up to this? If so, what is it out of......

Thanks Len Over here in Bremerton we dont have any smog laws that we need to pass with inspections. As for my trans, the car has a 4 speed. I will double check but I do believe the rear has coils also. I know its not the car of choice for most, but like I said. It was free One way or another I will build this car. I will get some pics on saturday. I leave for work, its dark, I get home, its dark...... man I love the winter

Ok, are there any springs that would work for the rear, and anything I can build to lower the front?
