  1. Lots of examples in NZ. Very common here. never heard of any issues
  2. Can you post your current alignment spec? and how are the tyres wearing? Any feathering on the tyres?
  3. Reminds me when i was younger. Me and the old boy needed to weld up a hole on a gas tank. Being Lazy decided to do it in place. Drained the tank but before we welded got concerned with the fumes inside the tank. We decided to suck them out with mums new vacuum cleaner. Put the nozzle in the tank. flicked it on Then BOOM. the fumes must of hit the electric motor and I was left standing there with a nozzle and well.. that was pretty much the remains of the vacuum cleaner
  4. Just like a jigsaw puzzle. Drill out the old spot weld. Reattach with new. Gusset the joins. It was all done legit on a chassis plant ETC. Took a weekend. But not something for someone to attempt if they are not familiar with the trade.
  5. Cool Project, I am wondering if you are going to have issues with broken exhaust studs since your exhaust manifold does not have its flexi joint? Not sure if its been mentioned I am more a fan of picture books than novels
  6. I had to do a front cut on mine.
  7. MIght as well give the coolant system a flush while you are at it and put in fresh Antifreeze.
  8. I havnt read this in complete depth, But looks like it might answer your question relating to bearing lengths http://desertdatsuns.freeforums.org/throw-out-bearing-collar-t2635.html
  9. Arh yes, Sorry i meant the long one, So from my understanding.( I am tired and not thinking 100%) Old one is long, New supplied one is short. You have short one fitted and to compensate for the length you have maxed out the adjustment? First check the movement of the clutch throw out arm. If this is moving an expected distance but clutch still not working as intended. Put the original bearing in/Buy the correct bearing. Cheers
  10. Put the short one back in and see if that resolves your issue. Gotta remember the movement required to go from engaged to disengaged is very minimal. Less than you would imagine if you were not aware
  11. bit of common sense required here, THermo stuck open? Replace it ...Hmmmm. They are a few bucks, and about 1/2s hour work by the time you bleed it up afterwards
  12. Um... Do you mean like This <--
  13. Well i have gone this route, Sitting almost perfect for me. I have had to cut out the wheel arches and move them up a bit. My panel beater is going to recreate the flare for a more factory look and cut out the bulge it currently has.
  14. Ebay is far superior to what we have here in NZ which is Trademe.co.nz
