    1200 Hayabusa

this one has a short drive shaft from the output sprocket on the hayabusa gearbox (yup the stock busa box) and from there to another driveshaft where the gearbox would be to the diff, biggest problem is the lack of reverse, easily overcome by using a truck starter as a electric reverse motor by adding a gear to the driveshaft.. OR here is another swap i have seen.. starlet swaps often use the stock gearbox from the starlet, remove all gear except 4th (for the 1:1 ratio) and reverse and use a small drive shaft to the gearbox (with no bell housing) and then from the gearbox to the diff'.. so you are using the hayabusa box through 4th gear on the toyota box, then you press teh clutch and engage reverse and haev 6 reverse gears  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfXVWlxaKwk here you can see the drive shaft from the hayabusa box to the second piece of the driveshaft in the 1200 before the vid plays and while the vid is playing you can see it too.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1BVemrCx5c
  2. really great build, what turbo is that? and what engine management?
  3. 15's if you're going to flare it, 14's if you wanna tuck them if you plan to run the 14's - you can always sell me the flares
  4. nice build, but wish you never painted it and got the original motor running but keep up the work and get it running
  5. LOVIN the flares!!! i am waiting on my ZG flares to arrive for my sedan :P
  6. hey love the build bro, got a 1200 sedan myself , i wanna see more pics of the 510 irs swap if you got. run the 15's with the fender flares from brpojects as far as engine, i have a CA18DET in mine and agree with you, i have been thinking long and hard about going NA ca18 (which is too difficult) twin webber SR20 (lots of work too) KA24DE and even A14/A15 with bike carbs recently... (my secret dream is to have a 12a bridgeport revving to 10k ) do what makes you happy.. i am spending late nights looking up a14 parts myself as i can get a complete running engine for about 300 bux. keep up the great work
  7. hey Super X, it brings out the front about 1" on either side I just installed a sway bar from god knows what car, and some poly bushings for the clamps and linkages... have not driven it yet as i am waiting on some parts.. some nice updates coming soon along with new vids :P
  8. i killed a 4000, they sometimes overheat and the magnets stick to the springs or something and the seize.. but i was cutting sheet metal for long periods of time on one of my old RX-2's if you take your time, you can basically cut most things, but cutting wheels get expensive, but for everything else, (porting, polishing, small cuts de-burring etc its amazingly perfect) if you are buying that for a shop tool to cut allot of thick metal... i would forget it.. but it's still worth getting
  9. awesome engine! My good friend Ryan Garcia used run in the 7's with one of these in a A172 Lancer
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gixRjCSTZhQ got myself a go pro and made a lil vid the other day... been thinking of converting to a high compression CA with ITB's and no turbo... i know i know... they dont make good torque, why take out the turbo etc... but hey, how many CA's on 4ag 20v quad throttles have you ever seen... in a 1200?? if it doesnt work, i will slap on a plenum and put back the turbo bits.. Parts List i'm thinking of: CA18DE Head Ported, Polished, 3 angle valve job Solid Lifters, double springs, new retainers, 280 cams 12-1 CR custom forged pistons ARP rod and head bolts 20v Silver top Quad Throttle Bodies 370cc Injectors MAFT Pro piggy back EMS (eliminates the AFM, replaces with speed density tuning via MAP & TPS) http://www.maftpro.com/tproinfo.shtml it's either that or i'm going SR20 with Quad throttles (or even webbers :P) and N16 sr16 cams etc.. i'll rock my current turbo setup till i either get a SR or pick up the spare CA18 head from the guy down the road and start building the head.. already found the 20v throttles, just waiting for the guy to drop them off... please give me your thoughts and opinions are welcomed also...
