The movie that made him a star was "Dogs In The Bathtub 4."

Pure genius.

#1529990 0-60 Under 2 sec. 600+ m/range new Tesla Roadster

Posted by flatcat19 on 17 November 2017 - 12:19 PM

If I remember right the roadster went 160 miles on a charge.  That's not to bad at all.  I like the first roadster a lot so small!

Gotta remember without Elon Telsa would be as boring as GM or Ford.  Way more fun to see them push the limits.

When I was working at a Nissan dealer out here a group of roadster owners parked overnight to charge their cars. One owner said if he drives partially spirited he got less than 80 miles.

As far as Elon Musk... charismatic, sure. Slightly past the loop? You bet.

Nothing wrong with a little crazy though. Especially with the product he delivers...minus the 3. Lol.

Wasn't the hellcat already getting spanked by the Model X's ludicrous mode?

I've driven the original roadster. Fun car; no range.
This one looks too insane.

Tesla needs to just keep working. The tech is really good and the cars are looking great.

Their owner though; just needs to shut up and collect them checks.

#1529053 What would you do

Posted by flatcat19 on 13 November 2017 - 09:10 PM

L18...4cc dish pistons.
L20B...11cc dish pistons.

Both 85mm.

Although not game-changing...L18 with the peanut will do more than putting an open head on it.
Same as putting a peanut head on the L20B.

One can't say that "nothing" will happen. A slight increase in CR is going to happen. It's math.

But...as already said...the U67 has bigger intake runners. Have to be able to suck in to be able to push out.

Do a compression test first. Make sure anything you do to this motor ends up not being wasted.

As it is a 74...it is an L18 motor. Probably an A87 head. Open or closed head is a mystery.

If you have good compression, I'd start small with power upgrades.

Matchbox dizzy and a Weber 32/36 carb will do wonders.
5 speeds are always on the shopping list.

Other than that...just make it safe, sturdy, and reliable.

Brakes be in working order. Add a booster from a later 620 if yours does not have one. Or maybe you want discs at all 4 corners.

Good suspension. KYB GasAJust shocks are awesome and cheap.

Fix all the steering bits. Bad tie rods and king pins will be inevitable.

Most importantly, have fun. Make it comfortable...or you, or her, won't even want to drive the thing.

Why not L20B with the CC head?

Id personally run the L18/W53...cuz I'm odd.

L20B with the W53 just seems like the better overall option.
Just add a 4.11 rear end and a 5 speed...happy traveler.
