  1. Just got off the phone with the claims rep for his insurance company. I was told they have to get hold of him first to prove this happened and that they're at fault. They said if there was a police report they wouldn't need to get ahold of him but sadly there isn't. What I forgot to ask was what happens if they can't get ahold of the guy? Any ideas? I was told to get a quote and fax it over along with pictures of the damage. We'll see how this pans out, hopefully they don't give me a hard time. I'm off to get a quote, I'll keep you guys posted. I'll try a local shops and see if any can even replace it, then maybe the Nissan dealership or Z sport. Should I call my insurance company? I've yet to tell them I only called his and filed a claim.. I'm glad he didn't take my hood out, my buddy Dave is on his third hood because of this kind of crap. And it might be time for some air horns gota keep those other drivers alert.
  2. Just when I get my car running perfect, I'm on my way to Intro to Philosophy about a half a block away from my house at a stop light. I'm about 5 feet away from the car in front of me (left him tons of room), for some reason he puts on his reverse lights and starts backing up. I honk my horn over and over then just keep it on and he smashes into the front of my car. I got all his info and just filed a report with his insurance agency. This is the first time I've ever been in an accident. Luckily it's only the front bumper that took damage. The guy was like well it's only a little bumper no big deal at all and I was like dude wtf you can't just walk into Autozone and buy one of these. He didn't understand... His Saturn was unscratched. First Dillion's car now mine wtf do Everett drivers have against Datsuns? I don't understand how he couldn't see I was behind him. I was on my horn with hella bright HIDs on. Will this effect my insurance? Pics of the damage
  3. I know you said the battery has plenty of juice but if I were you I'd take it to a auto parts store and have it load tested. Places like Autozone will do this for free. My old battery would read over 12 volts but when you went to start it would jump down to 9 and all you would hear is ticking.
  4. Can't believe I totally forgot about harbor freight. Only 20 bucks there, I tried the local auto parts stores but none had one I could rent. The person working at Autozone didn't even know what I was talking about and took out there tool rental chart and asked if it was on there. I'll pick one up tommrow and see how it goes hopfully fuel pressure is the problem so I can fix it and start driving again. Thanks for your offer ggzilla.
  5. Hey everyone does anyone have a fuel pressure gauge I can use(50+ psi)? I've been troubleshooting my 76 280z and I've gone through the EFI bible and ruled out everything electrical. Currently my Z is getting around 11mpg which is pretty awful especially when I daily drive it. It's also pretty gutless atm. People of Classic Z car are advising me to check the fuel pressure and I rather not shell out $40 on one, so I was wondering if anyone on here would lend me one for a day or so. Hopefully I can figure this out or I'm just going to ditch the efi for Su's. Thanks Tyler

    240z Question

Looks fine to me, price is decent too. Don't worry about the "mismatched" parts, all the ones listed are popular upgrades to the 240z.
  7. Just use the throttle body from a Ka24e from a 240sx or 89-92 Stanza. There bolt on and 60mm compared to the stock Zs 50 mm throttle body. You'll probably need a spacer if your planning on using the stock linkage or you can always convert your dime to cable linkage. Just make sure you bore the intake to fit the new throttlebody. What are your plans for the fuel tank? Are you already running a baffled fuel tank or some kind of fuel cell or are you just going to keep the stock tank? Looks like this build is going to be pretty sweet, keep us updated. Only one type, 75-76 non cali 280zs came without erg fittings both are n42 manifolds. After that all 280z and 280zxs came with erg fittings.
  8. Naw don't have a lady this is at my friend Daves house and ya his lady is cool about the cars (at times). You can actually barely make out the chassy of a 74 260z in the garage. That's his long term project that's he going all out on (push button start, sequential blinkers, full led lights, ect) He got the green Z in the picture for free, it'd been sitting for 15 years without an engine or tranny but Dave and I managed to get it running in 4 days, (thanks to Adam selling him anther L24 and tranny). The motor in the pic is my dead stock L28e. Currently I'm trying to polish an extra valve cover to make my engine bay look a little nicer. Want to also paint the block. Also have anther non erg N42 manifold in my room I plan on boring out to match a 60mm stanza throttle body. Won't really add any power but will allow me to clean up some of that wiring mess you see in the engine picture. Should be able to get rid of the Bcdd and air regulator too which are causing my car to have a shitty idle at times. Just trying to do cheap things that will make everythign look a little nicer, probably just going to keep the motor stock. No use in making it anything special because I will end up just swapping it out for a L28et.
  9. So I've been browsing this forum for a couple months now and with Canby coming up I'd figure I should register. I know a couple people on this forum already. I own a 76 280z I've been working on for about a year now. It's recently turned into my daily driver. When I started I knew almost nothing about cars but since then I've learned a ton and met a lot of cool people in the process. When I frist got my car it came with a horriblely ugly homeade body kit. Anyone that went to Golden gardens probably saw it. It was the black primer 280z in the second lot with the horrid body kit. On top of that the interior was gutted minus seats, dash, and center console. Rear brakes were shot and exhaust cut out half way. Since then I've installed 240z bumpers, new rear brakes, new interior, 2.5" exhaust and a ton of other little mods like getting rid of the engine fusible links, power locks, ect. Also did full urethane bushings, Eibrach lowering springs, and Tokico Struts. Hoping to paint it soon, then eventually do a zx turbo swap and call her done. Just need anther job first got laid off recently. For now I'm just doing little cheap stuff trying to clean up my engine bay a bit. My cars the black one, rest are my friend Daves, he's been helping me with mine since I started. Hope to see you guys at Canby, I'll be driving my friends 72 green 240z pictured above. I'll drive my car there next year when it's a bit more presentable.
  10. Figure it'd be a good time to stop browsing this site and start posting. Anyone is welcome to come so far we have three people myself including going. Address for Krispy Kreme is 4302 Tacoma Mall Boulevard Tacoma, WA 98409-7227.
