  1. For lowering these cars, there is no premade parts. The 280zx struts are great for bigger brakes, but not necessary if all you want is a low ride. I got 510 front springs and just cut them down and they gave me a pretty good ride. Then I used 80 200sx rear springs cut down also. Mine is not riding that low yet, but you can play with different spring options to achieve the ride quality and height you are looking for. Next I plan to try out some coilovers for a honda civic. The civic is about the same weight and size as a 210, and the parts for civics are abundant and cheap, so we'll see how that goes. Good luck to you and keep us posted on what you are thinking/decide.
  2. I am not too familiar with Portland, I was just down there with my wife visiting her little sister. BUT, what I do know is that we were only a couple blocks away from the VooDoo Donuts store on NE davis st. We were walking there and I almost fainted when I saw it. My wife and her sister couldn't figure out what I was so excited about :)
  3. I was in Portland, OR last weekend and I spied this little beauty. Is anyone here from that area? If so, any idea who owns this vehicle? It's so cool.
  4. Hey Guys, Sorry it's been so long. This summer has just flew by and I have been super busy. BUT, We need to have at least one more Nissan/datsun/anything else import meet before the season is over. Well, Sunday Sept 23rd @ noon we are going to have another meet! We are going to have it at our old location again. That seemed to work out best. That location is the Antoine Plante Ferry site park off of up river drive in the spokane valley. The very first post on this thread has a little map that shows how to get to the park. Please help spread the word so we can try to have a pretty good turnout for this one. I will be bringing out the BBQ again and will provide free hot dogs. If you want any other meat, just bring it with you and we'll throw it on the grill. If you have any questions, just text (see above post for number) or message me. Duke.
  5. Thanks for all the input guys. I was able to glue it back together, but I'm not happy with how it looks at all. My buddy has quite a bit of experience making custom gauge faces, and he told me how we can make a new one. It's just a lot of work. For now I am going to keep searching and maybe I'll get lucky again and find something. But I know that I have a back up plan if I don't get lucky. BTW: I'm never going to use any of the additional parts from that 1980 gauge cluster pictured above. If anyone else wants anything from it let me know. I'll give you a really good deal. Thanks again for all the support.
  6. So, when I bought my 79 210 five years ago, I was really unhappy with the big blank spot in the dash where there is supposed to be a factory tach, but this car did not come with one. So I set out to search all the wrecking yards locally here to find one. Finally, after 4 years of searching, I found a 1980 210 with a factory tach. Now the gauge clusters are different, since the 79 has the round gauges and the 80 has a square, boxy cluster. But, the tach is almost identical. So, I carefully removed the tach from the 80 cluster. The only thing that needs to be modified is the upper left corner of the gauge face. Right above the "3" you have to trim away about 1/2 inch to get it to fit snugly in the 79 opening. So As I was trimming away last night, This is what happened to me. I have waited 5 years to get a factory tach in that opening, guess I'll have to wait a little longer now. So far to date, I have only broken 2 things on this car. But last night, this one really hurt. Does anyone have an extra tach face laying around? LOL. I'm sure in 4 more years another one will come along. Anyone else have a similar situation where you searched and searched for that one piece and when you found it, you also managed to break it?
  7. I don't understand, "break up" problem. Is the car surging? Is the power cutting out under heavy acceleration/turning? Are you still running the stock fuel tank? If so, it doesn't have the required baffles inside the tank to keep a steady flow of fuel going up to the motor. Could this be your problem or am I not understanding the problem?
  8. Datsuns are quite plentiful here in the northwest, but it still took me 4 years to find my 81 200sx rearend. At least it came with a rear swaybar, which I was also looking for. I, also, have a single cam KA sitting in my garage waiting to be swapped in. still looking for a stumpy tranny to match up to it though. keep up the good work. I'm loving the read.
  9. Oops, guess I missed that rule. But then again, when your 6'5" you have to do something to fit better in a 210. Probably more work than people on here were looking for, but, S14 factory floors have almost the same contours to them. I cut out my factory floor bracing from the 210, and then carefully cut the ones out of an S14. There was minimal modification required to the S14 bracing and then I just welded it right to the floor of the 210. you can kind of see the front bracing in this picture. I should have taken more pics of the work.... but I was dumb.
  10. glad to see this tread still going strong. I've been away for a while, finishing up work on my 210. Here is a most recent pic: Still trying to figure out a bumper. Probably just going to make one out of fiberglass.
  11. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pursuit-Imports/219177641431487 We've decided to meet @Shakeys Pizza Parlor NOON, THIS SATURDAY! (April 28th) 9602 North Newport Highway Spokane, WA 99218 Is the address! Sorry about the last minute change but with the Spring weather we want to make sure we have a covered place to meet. 12. there are a few of us datsun guys here in spokane. We've been trying to get more guys to come out to the meets. The problem we always seem to have is the datsun guys manage to show up at different meets, but never everyone at the same meet. I would really love to get the word spread so we can try to get all the datto guys to show up at the same time.
  13. Spring is finally here! It's time to start up the meets for 2012. Our first meet this year will be Saturday April 28th @ noon. The location will be at the Sullivan Park in Spokane Valley. It's just behind best buy on the other side of the river. We really want to try and get a good turn out from our local Datsun guys. The meet is not just limited to datsuns, but all imports and import enthusiasts are welcomed, as long as you can be respectful. If you have any questions, don't hestiate to ask. I hope to see some of you guys out there.
  14. I just went to walgreens yesterday and found several of the 510's, GTR's, and GT2000's. AND, walgreens is running a sale on Hot Wheels..... 59 cents each!
  15. Well, I have already planned to drive my datsun 210 all the way over there from spokane. So, If you all want to join me, I'll be there rain or shine. I'm sure I won't be the only one there. Sunday, march 25th.
