  1. Yea. It took some time to complete, but with the diagram from the FSM taped together and laminated it came out great and fits better than a glove. All connections crimped and soldered + heat shrink. The harness actually will run's under the intake runners. Just got off work. I put up some pic's later today.
  2. Jeff, this is Tacomaboy. I put up some fresh pics in roadsters of what your killer product will motovate. Thanks for taking the time and effort to put out such a nice looking and most important user friendly piece. Looking forward to seeing it in person.
  3. I've made a bit of progress. Been tayloring wires for about a month .It's slow though. Real slow. Now I'm under the dash trying to thin out what I wont need and make room for whats to come.I can tell I jacked up the download. Next time will be better.

Good point. For future reference it shall be known to all that under construction in my shop is my 70' 1600. I have already removed and sold off the stocker 1600/4spd.combo. My replacement engine is a KADE with 5 spd.which is about 65% complete in rebuild state.I'm also in process of upgrading fuel delivery. In tank pump/sending unit from 96 Maxima. 200SX rear DB conversion, probably 4 piston wilwood's up front backed by 260 ZX 7/8" Ma cylinder. Sorry for lack of info.

O.K. I go the word on this. The Crower Cam for the KA series are manufactured to be used on FWD,RWD and later versions of the same head. The stub end of the ex. cam which is actually used for the intake was -.042 Meaning that it made no contact with the cam journal. It's designed that way ,on later version KA heads, that journal dose'nt even exuist.. Confused? Not now.

So my head guy lays the cams today and calls saying WTF,is with the now intake cam ......end shaft? It's about -.042 than the capped journal. Ah sheite I reply. After an e-mail to Crower they reply that it's machined that way sence the later style heads dont use that part of the shaft either. What. No oil hole either. Yep thats the way they are. Is this true to the rest of us using them?
  7. So the answer then is no one has tried in this direction. I will probably follow suit, after looking at the Sentra set-up. Thanks to all.
  8. Yea , any action has an equal reaction.... But a cable or mech. linkage does seem to me at least give more feel for engagement. Again the question is . Has any one explored this option?
  9. Just wondering if any has ventured in that direction. KA backed by 5 spd. 11.5 lb flywheel stock clutch pack. Ive driven a few rigs with a cable clutch. They do give a bit more mmmm real time feeling under foot. Any thoughts. Thanks Mike.
  10. Mr. Hitman. Yes, the volvo conversion is still on the table. I'm wondering if anyone has done the cross bore holeshot which will require only 1 brakeline and no manifold converter block. Looks like a plausable mod. I suck at patching links through but it's on 311's under Tech Forum ........ More brake less money. By actually crossdrilling from the bottom of one bore to the other ,you can eleminate the manifold.
  11. I guess I must ask,of your intention with the outlaw calipers?
  12. Well Miss Foxy you've got my attention. That is one hell of an upgrade. I am considering a set of slotted and /or vented rotors to go with that. Sounds as if the240- 280 Z series 7/8'' master cyl my also complement those. Any thoughts? Thanks for your input.
  13. This is intresting. I was'nt able to pull the img.of the S-12 caliper up but will do some checking on it. The Girling seems to be a good swap, just open ear hole to 1/2'' from 7/16''. Either a dual line manifold or cross drill from cyl boer to bore to keep a simgle line operation. So...the S-12 caliper was installed on trucks and 4 runners up to 85? Thanks for all help in this matter.
  14. I'm just curious if anyone is using the 4 piston Girling design caliper on their Roadster? I'm planning on the swap along with the KA and was just looking for some feedback in that area.
  15. Really not worried about heat ,I just want it right the first time. Plastic-gage on cranck and rod's was just shy of spec which is spot on piston to bore fit is spot on. I'm sizing ring end gaps now. DatsunMike linked me to the FSM fo this enging,so all is good there.I maintain some pretty large naturag gas compressors at work. 12'' piston, depending on size and metal composition it will determin an over bore. Thanks to all in this matter.
