Dat620 77'

Finally after 6 and a half years i found another Datsun 620 King cab for the right price and condition Now there is a little story behind this find originally i had a 85 supra that was very clean and only one in my town at least that i ended up selling when i found this truck. I called the guy up about the truck and said he was firm on 1200 bucks and wouldn't budge so i got ride of the supra for super cheap and got the money to get the truck. Called the guy back and he said he would hold the truck for me drove by where the truck was parked and it wasn't sitting where it was at. Went to meet the guy the next morning and first thing out of his mouth was where is the truck and i was like idk i thought you put it away because you were holding it for me come to find out the truck was stolen so here i am sitting wondering wtf i am going to do because i got rid of my only form of transportation for this Datsun ive been looking for for years. Anyhow the guy owns a towing company and was on his way to get a rig in hermiston and passed the damn Datsun on the highway couldn't get the tow truck turned around in time so called the cops and they got the guy pulled over i guess it was completely loaded up with shit like the guy was headed for the hills or something. The guys was some old white guys strung out on meth they even found meth in the Datsun.... Anyhow so instead of towing the car he originally went over to get he ended up bringing the datsun back after the cops were done with it. I took my lunch and talked the guy down to 1000 buck for the truck and now i am a Official owner of a 79 datsun 620 king cab. I did find the previous owner of the truck that did all the work to it found out he motor has been rebuilt it has a A87 SSS head with intake on the head ported and the intake was ported as well along with where the butterfly's on the carb was ported as well had some cam work done this guy only used this truck to go gold mining in other then that it wasn't drove that often. It has 4x4 spring under the rear has been desmogged has new alt battery starter outer tie rod on passenger side fresh oil change new brakes all the way around new brake master cylinder. Also learned from the previous owner that this truck was originally an auto and he put a 4 speed in it well now it has a 5 speed that was swapped in my the owner i got it from. Only thing damaged was the top steering column cover when it was stolen and that piece was no where to be found. Reason it was able to be stolen is because who i bought the truck from his kid broke the key off in the ignition when they first got it and didn't think you could get the ignition anymore. What i have done so far to the truck is basic tune up plugs wires cap rotor ripped the hideous rear bumper off ran sea foam through the motor degreased the engine bay that wasn't that dirty to begin with tuned the carb the truck ran like shit when i got it and replaced the ignition.This is going to be a driving DD project wanting to either KA or SR swap in the future and do bee bani rear disc swap maybe upgrade fronts with beebani's 300zx brake swap as well. First Day I Saw it Got Her Home Washed Her Took Rear Bumper Off At The Car Wash LOL Good Old Datsun Love Washed At Work Straight Truck has surface rust and some Rust on Corner of doors and Fenders Love This Pic Latest thing im doing is bringing her paint back cant wait to be done

Well Just got back into a Datsun 620 after looking for 6 and a half years for the right one at the right price i would love to get these to be able to do the swap on my 620 will be posting pics sometime today....

Hey guys been a long time since ive been on here really looking for a KC 620 missing my Ratsun community and most of all missing my Ratsun in general any help would be greatly appreciated and something reasonable not 3-5k looking for a project that i can drive i i go.After having 9 of these truck idk why i got rid of my last one but life happens would like it to be a 5 speed doesnt have to be but would be nice and dont want a complete rust bucket.Also be interested in a 4x4 620 body style or z car maybe but very fond of the 620 what can i say it was my first pickup/car and its what i learned to drive stick on well thanks guys Let me know.

That's what I've been wanting to do still havnt made it but was planin on coming this year . I am in the market for a 620 4x4 ois.what I really want but if I can find a good deal on a kc 2wd or maybe a std cab I might be interested just depends lol either way I'm going to make it a 4x4 just need some help from my ratsun friends. Datz Mike had a long bed white one that needed work that I wanted to get a long time ago and was wondering if he still had it or not.

Hey guys been missing having a datsun and thinking its time to get a new one does anyone have any 4x4 laying around for sale lol. I might be interested in a different 4x4 but really wanting a 620 if not im looking for a decent kc maybe a std cab that i can put some wagoneer axles that i have under it plz any information on one would be greatly appreciated. banzai510(hainz) I have swapped three voltage regulators the one that came from the parts truck which was a factory one never been changed.Well i fryed that one so then i tryed the other two new ones that i have and they work and everything charge light went off with both when i tryed them so just kept one of those regulators installed. I am at work now hoping to be able to test the volts tomorrow if its nice out side or at least some time this weekend to see if its overcharging or not.Now about the distributor i did pulled the parts and everything and saw how it was installed on my buddies parts truck and did the swap myself.On my buddies truck the igniton module was installed on a stock coil and ballaster and yes i do have a aftermarket dizzy so should i go back to the stock coil and balister or what thanks for the help so far. nismo dr I would really like those pic that you were saying would help me out if you would lol and i am not running no big sterio or anything so that should work for me lol just would like pics to see what all i would have to do to convert mine to internal and are all the wires the same color that you put the jump wires two on each year of truck up to 77 or what i would appreciate if you could help with those issues alot. do what your telling me is that i should go back to a stock coil and my points distributor i mean i would like to keep the electronic if i could man it runs so much nicer.And what alternator should i use?I have read the how to threads but i dont get where you put the jumper wires other than at the plug but the plug is labeled to have an ir alternator.Thanks for the help so far

Hey guys so i got my 77 kc 620 and just put a new motor in her she runs like a top 87000 original miles on motor from the parts truck which who i bought the truck from was the 2nd owner and only got to drive the truck for 6 mounths 10 years ago when she bought it from the original owner. So i got it it tuned it up and everything oil,oil filter,air filter,fuel filter,spark plugs wires and the whole nine yards.Well my brand new point that i put in her burnt up like there was nothing to it... didnt even have five hours on them piss me the hell off lol!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyhow so my buddy got ahold of this parts truck that was stripped and motor had alot missing off on it bolts,and so forth well he told me i could take what i needed off of the truck so i did.Only thing i saw was it was a 77 std short box that had an electronic dizzy on her with a plug coming off it and some igntion module that mounts on the inner fender.It had a body wire that came off of it the plug that goes to the dizzy and a positive and negative wire that goes to the coil.So i did the swap and man she runs so much smoother drove her for a week and now ill be driving and she will be running perfectly fine and then she wont want to run or go anywhere dont know why PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! i feather the throttle and she will stay running some what and then die :( i cant move so i let her sit for about five to ten minutes and then i can start her up and go down the road for a couple minutes and then she starts doing it again.First off i found out that when i had the points she was overcharging... DONT KNOW WHY???? the battery when running is at 16v and even with everything on was at 16v changed the regulator and still 16v i got two brand new regulator and the old one that came off of the parts truck that goes with that alternator so tryed it and burnt it up so put one of my new ones back on her.So the regulator didnt do anything just still stayed at 16v... so i was wondering maybe i put the electric dizzy in her the volts should drop down hopfully well i havnt had a chance to test her volt since i have done the conversion been working alot but from whats going on sounds like nothing has changed.So she just sits there im thinking that my alternator needs changed and that will fix everything that is going on with her any help would be appreciated im almost fed up with her and man do i love her i would hate to sell her but i am at wits end please help me anything would be appreciative Thanks Cody
