  1. Mounted.... The right way around too. That is a alloy piece with dimple die cut outs. The hilarious thing is, it's alloy with a plastic coating over the top. It's the same exact colour as the paint on the truck! hahaha
  2. should realise by now how slow burning this is. Today, that front apron was under attack. I'm the 3rd owner of this truck. Story goes, previous owner was a fruitier & use to carry crates of oranges and the like in the tub from farm in to town. On the way home from the pub one afternoon, he gets into a bit of mischief and puts it into a fence. Completely crumples the front apron and spills crates and crates of oranges everywhere...... The thing was 90% bog..... so it had to go unfortunately. Funny thing was the body mount was twisted around about 45 degrees. Also managed to pick up one of those Hako front chin spoilers from a contact in Japan over a year ago (was also hassling him and waiting about a year before he sold me one). Very good quality and not too expensive. Having the front apron removed there is a huge gap between where the apron was and where the chin needs to attach - makes sense. Still had it flipped over to see what it looked like upside down haha. Massive buck tooth look going on that way round... Not the look I'm going for. Those are also my custom PWR cooler and radiator. : )
  3. Wow, end of an era! What a fucking power house! Enjoy it mate - what a journey.

    Inspiration

That Truck Porn thread doesn't have many Datsuns in it by the looks of it. I'm looking for some real inspiration and to keep up with my vision of creating a Datsun 520 turbo race truck. I'm talking about fat wheels, flares, stance, minimalist race spec interiors, stripped back, race mods, vintage race looks and feels, quality fabrication and detail on details. Hit this tread with what you've seen, saved, had or lost. I don't care if it's the same old shit we've all seen before - maybe I'll see something I haven't seen that fits the brief. Cheers, CopyDat
  6. @solcaldatsun - Yep, front has been cut for turn clearance and the rear hasn't been done yet.
  7. ^ I paid 350 USD for my Turbines + shipping + sandblasting + paint + rubber hoops.... Still, worth it : ) Everyone who sees them here (in Australia) say they look like Daytona Nascar race wheels. Like sprint car race spec or something. I like this pic I took today. Thing has stance - love it!
  8. How good is this pic and stance?! I went out to the workshop and got to see this in the flesh. Pics don't do it justice.
  9. bought a Hyundai Senata boss kit - McKinnon (my fabricator) strips it back, takes off all the black plastic crap and exposes the aluminium hub. Then machines it! Wow - I'm pretty happy with that! I'm going to running a KKR suede steering wheel (350mm). Eventually I'll have a quick release boss. Good for racing, getting in and out of the truck and also ectra security measure.
  10. Cheers! Some guys requested additional pics - so here ya go. I don't have one from directly on front.
  11. Best thing anyone has ever said! That's the look I'm going for. Vintage Race Rice :)
