  1. time to get rid of this truck, dont have the money or resources to do this thing and have lost interest. it is in seattle, dont have the title but you can track it down, has no interior but body and everything else is there. has the old school mags on it and other new parts also. first 150.00 takes it home. bring your trailer and give it a new home. just call terry at 206 661-2433
  2. hi guys, i have my 1970 521 that i am going to part out, it is complete except for the interior. all floor pans are perfect, no rust, the box has a rust through hole in the front quarter drivers side. the front fenders are in nice shape, the hood is good. the windshield is broken, but all other glass is good. doors are nice, will need window seals but otherwise good. dash pad is cracked heavily, but all other dash parts are fine.she ran last summer but havent touched her since, just tired of trying to chase down the previous owner for the release of interest for it, willing to sell complete for 500.00 and you chase the papers for it. if you want pics. just email me at terryaclayman@aol.com and i will send you some. your choice parts or whole she will go. Terry
  3. Thank you Mike for all of the different manuals on your site. If it wasnt for these manuals then people like myself that do not have alot of experience with these unique rides would not be able to figure out what is causing our problems and then fix them. I have had to go several times and look up information so that i can troubleshoot my '70 521 truck just to keep it up and running proper, and when the clutch hydralics went out i had the info readily available to me for the repairs. please keep up the awesome work and if i ever come across any books i havent found on your site i will gladly send them your way so that you may post them to your site. Terry a.k.a freebie1600: :D:D;)

    How old are we?

just turned 49 in june,, lived in seattle area most of my life,, short stint in S.C for the military,, OHIO for 3 years for my step kids to learn about there fathers,, (what a mistake that was!!!) ancestors on moms side came over from england to canada in 1875 as indentured slaves and were freed in 1904 and then they moved here to washington to stay, dads side is irish and dutch, so i am a hienz 57 style of mutt and EXTREMELY proud of who and what i am,, and my kids are just like me.:):):lol:

    Ridin' High

there is a guy here in seattle that did a body lift the cheap way,, he took some pipe and used hockey pucks that he drilled out to fit the bolts into and used that as his body lift, it still allows a little bit of flex for the road but gives a soft ride for the street. he claims that this system has been on his truck for the last 6 years and no trouble with it. he used grade 8 bolts for the lift and says it cost him under $80.00 to do it all. just a thought for you to achieve the lift for the big tires you want on your truck:D
  7. hey dude if you really want to experience ohio, then do take a drive down into amish country. you will find a real old world culture that is actually fun. they still drive horse drawn buggy's that sometimes are really cool. but watch out for the amish girls, they can play real head games with you. the buggys are a trip, they have to follow the laws and have lights, so they use 12 volt batterys in them and some that i have seen down around new philadelphia even have some bad assed sound systems in them. and the food in amish country is not compareable to anything else you will eat. no restaurants can compare to the amish food, it is excellent and cheap, and cooked old world style. ENJOY your time in ohio and do take the time to experience the old world style of the amish while you are there.:lol::):)
  8. this is funny,, what you wanna bet her "custom motorcycle" is nothing more than a honda 90 with a suppressor on it,,LOL. my truck has stock exhaust on it and i took it out finally for its maiden voyage after 3 years of sitting in the yard. it was backfiring like mad due to a vacuum leak i didnt know about, when the cops showed up they just laughed because they didnt believe people called, they stated that the neighbors thought i was throwibg out m-80s or somthing from my truck. just shows how ignorant people are about cars in general,,, if they dont know how to work on them then they shouldnt have the right to complain!!!!!! now that the truck is running, it is time to start the body and interior work on it.:mad::mad::mad:
  9. ooohh god what a noise,, can you imagine the looks it would attract if you had pulled up beside someone and triggered that noise,,,,,, almost enough to cause an old couple to mess thier shorts on a good hot night. ROFLMAO,,, no way i could put that on my truck,, my wife and kids would never ride in it again. oh wait,, maybe i should,, that way i can always go out and drive the truck by myself,,,LOL:lol::lol:
  10. this truck is sweet, love the front bumper, dont get rid of it, if it is tweaked a little just straighten it out if at all possible, trying to find 1 like that up here in seattle is next to impossible. other than the front fenders being tweaked a little it is a nice truck, alot of great potential for a starter truck. welcome to the site , keep up with lots of pics on what you do to it, helps some of less imaginative people like myself with alot of ideas on improvements for our rigs.:lol::lol:

    kick my ass

now this is a sign of a true ratsun nut,,, a little scrap metal, alot of imagination and a welder in the garage,,, and wallah a new tool to use for getting your job done. now all you have to do is put this tool into production for all of us to buy from you so we dont have the same problem getting our drums off when we go to do brakes,,LOL,, did you use a stick or mig to weld this with??:lol::D
  12. does anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove what is left of the original jute pad and glue from the interior???, i am trying to remove this stuff from my 70 521 so that i can put down the sound deadener and then install the new pad and carpet in my truck. the sooner i can get this removed the sooner i can start to design this new interior, i want to get the carpet and seats in first so that i can design the rest of it around the seats, i am removing the dash pad and also need to know what kind of material to use to fill in all of the cracks so that i can re-upholster it and then reinstall it also. Thanks for all of the help in advance,, Terry:):)
  13. I finally got the news today that my financing had been approved for my return to school,, i have been waiting for the last 8 months for the state to make the decision as to wether they will cover the costs for my worker retraining or not. I have been wanting to take a course on auto body repair and painting, but the state didnt want to pay for the course as it takes 6 quarters to complete. I had allready paid for the first quarter of school and all lab fees, and then i get the news that they will be willing to pay for it if i am willing to wait until the fall quarter to start. i told them that i am starting this summer quarter on my own cost, and they are going to cover the other 5 quarters for me, plus re-imburse me for all of the fees associated with this course. they told me that anything else needed to complete this course will be covered under the worker retraining stimulus package,,, oh boy i get to go shopping for my tools and not pay for them myself,,, hhmmmmmm,, i see a new plasma cutter and air compressor and sprayer in my near future. ROFLMAO,, i would never get that lucky. Well ,,,hope i can find a job as a body paint person after this course is going, that way i can get ojt along with schooling :D:D:lol::lol::lol:
  14. Man this is one sweet ride, and with you restoring it back to original, makes it even better, just love how clean it is looking, sure hope when i get to mine that i can make it look this clean. with the motor work,,what do you think the specs. on it will be??? hp? torque??. keep up the fantastic work and feed us with lots of pictures.:lol::lol:
  15. with over 20 years of working on cars for a living, i know i am one of those other guys, i have owned alot of cars,,, both domestic and import, and i am disgraced to say that i have done alot of make shift work on some that i have bought at auction just to turn a quick buck,,, LOL but now i am finding that no matter what may have been done in the past by me,, i will always be able to complain about those " other guys " with any vehicle that i buy in the future. but as far as my "datsun " ,,,,,, no one will ever be able to complain that i am the " other guy " again. i will never part with my truck and i am looking at a turbo "z" i found in a guys yard the other day that he says has too much "power " for him to drive . i am trying to get him to sell me the car for cheap,,, wish me luck,, if i cant afford it i will post more about it and maybe someone on here can save it from just sitting and rotting away.:eek::lol::lol:
