  1. Translation from the article is "blue silver" which is apparently blue metallic. Closest I can find on the old '67 Dupont colour sheet is 903 - Blue Poly (irridescent blue, RA formula DA076). For the transmission pan, its Datsun Blue - 103 (RM formula DA108) by the looks of it. http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/chipdisplay.cgi?year=1969&manuf=Nissan&smodel=Datsun&info=&page=5 results may vary of course!
  2. Vindats has one for sale in the classifieds now, filter only, no body
  3. Thanks, I have checked out a few places with parts manuals going back to the early '60s. It seems that at some point the TE183 changed from being the larger 410/411 fit to the 1000 (possibly 1200) smaller fit. Doesn't help when there is nothing to distinguish between the two. Thinking at this stage that I might get a couple of longer rods turned up and just buy another set of 555 outers to put on the inner as they seem to be pretty bullet proof. besides the length of the tie rod end would there be any difference in the dynamics between the outer and inner (I see a lot of them listed as either LH outer/ RH inner)
  4. Hi Guys I've been chasing a set of inner tie rod ends for the 411 for a while now and have a lot of conflicting info on what fits and what doesn't. Outers I have are 555 brand from a Datsun 520 and they fit perfectly. I have been referred to 555 brand TE183R and TE183R for the inners but I have just picked up a pair of these and although they are the right length the thread and post are way too small (I believe these are listed for the 1000 also) so they are no good for this model. The original part numbers I have are 48641-16500 and 48521-16500 Anyone replaced these who can refer me to a decent after market product? Are there different thread sizes for TE183L/R? Cheers
  5. If I were you, I'd be looking at getting the 411 windshield repaired and polished. They can do pretty amazing things with them these days, even repairing cracks. I have the same issue with mine and managed to get a 410 parts car with a decent replacement but I have searched high and low and getting a new screen is very tricky. Only ones I have found are for 410s and made in Vietnam. An expensive exercise at AU$550 especially not knowing the quality of the lamination.... good luck with the hunt
  6. Still waiting on the guys in Japan and Thailand to get back to me on the lower ball joints. I have a feeling that if it's been this long that they might turn up empty. The guy in Thailand seemed pretty positive he could get them though....we shall see Found a place here in Melbourne that will refurb the lowers for $150 a side, they apparently cut the ball out and replace it then weld it back together. Definitely preferential over injecting them with plastic. The front bumper you are running is from a 1964 410 with the metal overriders. From 1965 the 410's and 411's had the rubber inserts. The front and rear overriders on the 64 model were the wider metal version. Both my 410 and 411 have scuff plates on the door sills, the style is consistent with the scuffs they use in the 510's but with a kind of a dimply aluminium finish. I'll see if I can grab a pic tomorrow for comparison Cheers
  7. Chasing details now....I'll let you know what I come up with. Not sure how many sets the guy in Japan has and getting confirmation that they are in fact the correct part numbers as a lot of the original numbers were superceded If I search on the part# I get a few US based places that are showing inventory on them too, 40160-24000. Found them here and a couple of others. Based on what AZhitman has shared in the past there's no difference with the lower left and right, his words "Closer inspection reveals there's absolutely NO difference in the 40160-24000 and the original lower left ball joint. The ball joints on my car are identical (L to R) and also match exactly the 40160-24000 Nissan OEM part" This might be another option if nothing else pays off. I've got someone in Thailand chasing a set for me too, fingers crossed!
  8. I'm also chasing a set of ball joints for my 411 and have pretty much had the same luck as you Milesiles, I saw the ebid ones and thought they looked a bit dodgy but let me know if you have any luck, I'm definitely in the market for a set One of the links I got on my Google search was to an old for sale ad from AZ Hitman on Ratsun saying that he had one lower ball joint spare as he bought one too many Can get a full set of uppers and lowers from Japan but they are about AU$650 which is a bit exxy Watching with keen interest!
  9. This interests me....everyone I speak to about getting my J13 rebuild says the pistons are NLA and $1K - $1.5K to get them made... then again, can't imagine the E1s are that easy to come by either
  10. I chased a set of SS twin carbs for the J13 on Yahoo Japan a while back, they are very hard to come by, doesn't help when the seller splits the carbs, manifold and linkages either.... Ended up buying the boot lid to replace my rusted out one. I believe there i a Pierce manifold that fits the J13, think I read about it in some Ratsun threads so worth a search on that too..
  11. Hi Guys, Overhauling the brake cylinders on the 411 and wondering if anyone knows what size the flare nuts are on the steel lines that run into the back of the cylinders. I have already rounded one of them and just found out that I need a flare nut wrench to get them out. I have sprayed them with penetrex and tapped them, even tried a little heat but they don't seem to want to go anywhere. Anyone had similar troubles or by chance know what size flare nut wrench I need to get so that I don't have to scrap the rest of them? I guess the alternative is to replace the cylinders (aftermarket availability?) Thanks in advance
  12. That'll teach me for reading forwards in threads rather than backwards, I guess everything went pear shaped later in the piece Thanks for the heads up Mike
  13. Still got this by any chance? How much would it be shipped to Australia postcode 3072 Thanks
  14. Mike, you are a wealth of knowledge, thanks for taking the time to reply. Looks like all of the wheel have the clips so I'm assuming they are original 14inch 411s Cheers Greg, you have a PM, hope there is some way I can help out in return Chris
