  1. Thanks for the info. I was wondering about the ignition switch and turn signals. I bet some street rod site makes a lot for that column. I'm swapping an L67 from a Grand Prix GTP into mine so clearance is a concern.I'll be watching your build for ideas and inspiration.
  2. I was actually contemplating starting the same thread. My stock gages are not compatable with my engine/trans combo and I'd like to keep my dash looking as stock as possible. I was looking at the Dakota Digital VHX 1020 set. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=851/category_id=664/mode=prod/prd851.htm I think 5" is too big to fit though.
  3. I'm loving this build and wanting to see more! Could you please share more information on your steering setup? Where did you get that amazing column? Do you have part numbers for the rack and column? I see you had the power steering box earlier in the build, but then decided to go with rack and pinion. Was this just to make room for the swap, or is there a performance advantage to the rack and pinion? This is my favorite build currently on here, please keep me updated!
  4. I have had a lot of luck with Durabak. You might want to look into that as well. Great product.
  5. I can get a dash on the internet, so I'm not too worried, but I've never seen another set of door panels like mine.
  6. I have a set of blue 620 deluxe door panels that I'm going to use in my truck. Does anyone know how to get the stainless trim off around the plaid fabric without destroying it? I plan on dying the vinyl black and getting some green and black plaid to match the avocado metallic green exterior paint. I already ruined my dashboard, but these will be impossible to replace.
  7. Stupid android! Yeah, it's a GM L67 supercharged 3.8 V6 out of a 97 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP.
  8. It's been a long time since I've updated, but this is what I have so far... oops buzz, buzz, grind, grind...good enough crusty old Toyota 4-runner rear axle Will be 350 horsepower backed by a Tremec T-5 5 speed. Flintstones meet the Flintstones... started with a e-bay floor pan, but not enough to do the job. Have to make some more pieces.
  9. At only $60 I could probably just hang hoses anf stuff on them in the garage. :)
  10. I found these on CL and I really like them, but I can't find a 4th. Does anyone have a suggestion? They are 17" OZ racing. http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/pts/3679179108.html
  11. Wow, that much wider? Would it still be possible to tuck Titan wheels running one of these axles then? I have one in my shed and was thinking about swapping.
  12. Even with a fwd offset wheel the entire thing would be sticking out past the bed. An '84 or 85 Toyota rear would be a nice choice. The width is correct, disc brake conversions with parking brakes are available from Sky Manufacturing and the shafts make the Datsun ones look like toothpicks. You can get any gear ratio you can think of and a plethora of lockers to choose from. I've seen guys running 38" super swampers and small block Chevy motors pound on these axles for years and never break anything. You could upgrade to a cryogenically frozen shaft, but unless you're putting out 1,000 hp I think the stock toyota shaft is good enough. If you can find one from a V6 truck it's supposed to have a stronger center section but I think the years a V6 was offered are a tad wider? I've read that they are as strong as a Dana 60.

Me too. I was thinking about rubber roofing material and shoe goo.
  14. yeah, if the whole truck was that color I'd just leave it alone.
