#1509554 Paging a Ratsuner, You're on Speedhunters!

Posted by hobbes_the_cat on 11 August 2017 - 07:42 PM

That's the wagon of doom. Icehouse built the original version I believe and the next owner added more mods. Pretty sure there is a build thread floating around here for it from back in the day.

Edit: here's the thread but the pics are all dead. :/

didn't take long for that guy on here to try to flip his car for a huge profit.

I don't know that guy but it looks like he invested some cash and definitely some time into it. Bought it as a non runner, cleaned it up, put a new Weber on it etc. I don't consider that a "flip". I like to see guys save a car from rusting away and get em back on the road. I doubt he'll get his asking price but good for him if he does. Maybe he'll use the money to save another one.

They will sell it, $800+tax I was going to buy it but I'm omw to SoCal and they will not sell it unless the buyer is present to do all the paperwork, they won't hold it either and I'm not the only guy calling about it either

That's worth $800, no question. Someone will get a nice little project. Glad they're willing to sell it whole.

I love the idea of a vintage NASCAR stance. I'm sure it'll be unique when your done.

Daaaang. Well that explains why it didn't turn. If the crank can't be saved, shoot me a message. I have a buddy that probably has a good one that he'd sell.

This is so rad. Like a mini-bike on steroids. Your attention to detail is awesome.

What do you mean "280zx front brake brackets"?
I thought the caliper bolted tight to the strut...

#1470328 Well, now what am I gonna do with this?

Posted by hobbes_the_cat on 12 March 2017 - 07:00 PM

I've used oven cleaner to remove rattle can paint without damaging the paint underneath. Strip the bad stuff off and if you find ratty stock paint just build a rat. This is Ratsun after all. If it's nice paint underneath, that's just a bonus.

This is my buddy's 510 wagon. $2500 Super solid car. Was owned by an eccentric old guy for most of its life. Needs a good home.

Many L18's are JDM imports. Especially if it has a W53 head. If you ever pull the intake manifold check for notches at the top of the intake runners, might even be a fuel injection head.
