  1. I am going to hit the junkyard again. I need D21 spindle and I got Pathfinder spindles. A $100 lesson to read more carefully. It seems the taper on the lower ball joint is upside down. I went ahead and ordered the bushing kit so this will be a complete front suspension rebuild. I am taking it to an old school alignment shop that charges a bit more but worth it. Those tire shops generally don't have the know how to properly align the wheels. Good stuff coming, be safe my friends!
  2. Just a FYI, I bought this off of eBay and it fit on the stock bracket. I just slid up the old washer bottle and this on fit and worked well. A bit snug but securely fit. I like leaving the truck easy to reverse to stock and this fits the bill. $13.69 free shipping Universal Washer Bottle Tank Kit Pump 12V 1.8L Windshield Wiper System Reservoir Seller: magicseekers
  3. Hello Don and thank all for the compliments. It has been tons of work so far but I am happy to say that it runs like new. I gutted the interior because it was infested with bugs and rats. I plan on leaving it empty with no RV interior. Some faux wood vinyl flooring, solar panels on roof, inverter and batteries in floor. I may change my mind but I am working on the mechanical issues first. I picked up 95 Pathfinder spindles and got new rotors, calipers, and hoses so this week she gets a front brake upgrade. I already replaced the master cylinder and put all new parts on the rear drums. I am looking for a little more ground clearance so I ordered new Rancho shocks, ball joint spacers, upper and lower ball joints, idler arm, center link, and tie rods. I will adjust the torsion keys conservatively. I have been driving around to establish trust but I hear some driveline noise. Maybe she only wants a couple of pulls of grease. Carrier rubber looks good but is old. I have built several 9 inch rear ends for my cars in the past but this stock Datsun rear looks pretty stout. I will wait and see how it goes. The truck only has 73k original miles! I just put 3/4 inch treated plywood down for floors and working on the interior. I will certainly post pics. I put a dash cap on her, a new rubber cab floormat, seat covers (for now). I bought Techno Toy Tuning door and kick panels that look killer. Lots of wiring left to do. This has been challenging with my work schedule, overtime and the fact my truck is 80 miles away at a friend's house. The finish line is near and in the midst of this Corona virus pandemic it makes me feel good to own this thing.
  4. You don't need a fancy DMM, just a test light probe. Check it at the switch then go further back to the light. Good luck.
  5. Here is a great eye roller for you! I have a fantastic running original 1979 L20B with W58 head with 69k original miles. It is installed and runs like a sewing machine. I recently acquired a used, fully complete L20B with a U67 head with all accesories and transmission still bolted. It looks like a pull out. Oily old engine in unknown condition. Along with this I got a Z20 longblock that looks freshly rebuilt. Under the wrap it has fresh paint, new freeze plugs, valves and timing chain look to have never had gas/fire/oil. My guess is it came from a machine shop then mothballed. You could use it for a plate for a grilled cheese sandwich it is so clean. I have a 620 which I plan on owning forever! Question, should I???? Option A: Shrink wrap it and store it for a rainy day. Option B: Sell it and use the money for 620 cosmetics. Option C: Take the U67 head to a machine shop and stick her on the Z20 for a engine upgrade. Open for Option D suggestions. I know this sounds like I am 17 years old and inherited my uncle's Datsun junk but I am froggy and prone to leap. WWDMD (WHAT WOULD DATZEN MIKE DO?)
  6. I bought these door channel runs off of Amazon and they are a perfect fit for my 1979 Datsun 620. I paid $21 you will need one for each door. CRL Flexible Flocked Rubber Glass Run Channel for 1960-1961 Valiant and Lancer - 96 in long
  7. Simply put, the round gasket has more surface area than the square.
  8. Use the gasket that matches the head not the exhaust. It works fine, just keep an eye out for leaks and readjust as needed. Many people will tell you you can not run it like that but as long as it doesn't leak you dont risk burning a valve.
  9. Found this on the web of my exact camper. A photographer snapped this photo of the previous owner camping at a music festival at the Pecan Grove RV park Barton Springs in Austin Texas. He was selling these prints.
