  1. I have had several of those manifolds over the years , mostly from Japanese engine exchanges. Although these days they would probably be fairly rare. My first turbo fuel injected 510 was back in 1990 with Bosch CIS using a control pressure regulator from a early Porsche turbo and a homemade adapter from a stock exhaust manifold (It suprised numerous musclecars back in the day :). SDS is a very straightforward system and works great when tuned correctly, the turbo/wet nitrous setup in the L series 3 liter stroker in my 510 ran for several years trouble free when using SDS and MSD for ignition control.
  2. I just wanted to post a video of the 510 for sale with 400 rwh, the car is brutally fast, decent handling a blast to drive.
  3. 1971 510 Street legal, tagged and insured in CA setup for street/ strip duties .Neither motor being sold with the car has had a any Nitrous run through it, The setup uses a BFT to make horsepower the nitrous is there as a 50 rwh shot to spool the big turbo at the drag strip. Recently rebuilt L28et bottom end with N42 ( new valve job, seals guides) head is currently in the car with a 7,5 psi tune (248rwh) Included is a L30 stroker motor VO7 crank, 133mm Cunningham rods NRC custom forged pistons. Professionally ported (over 1k in work) N42 head with stainless valves and NISMO retainers and springs with custom ground WEB turbo cam with spray bar. AME EMS with custom wiring harness, AEM twinfire ignition, AEM injector driver, The AEM runs a dual/fuel setup that uses 87 octain while regular driving and E85 under boost using seperate fuel systems. The car uses a Ford EDIS coilpack driven by the AEM using a front 12 tooth wheel and a custom cam sensor for injector/igintion timing. The primay gasoline injectors (240cc) are sequential and the E85 injectors (1600cc) are batch fired.A Bosch EFI pump is used on the gasoline side and two Bosch 044 pumps are used for the E85. The Transmission is a T56 six speed with a Rockland standard gear 750rwh drag kit. With a custom adaptor bell housing. The clutch/ flywheel is a tripple disc 10,000 rpm kevlar unit good to 700 rwh. The drivine is custom with Spicer competition U joints. The rear end is R200 with NISMO LSD with 3.700 gears, the halfshafts have NISMO soild competetion U joints. The front suspention uses Proshock coilover kits and Tokico Illuminas with Moog Camber plates and a Froula strut brace and a Quickor 25mm front sway bar all bushings are uretane. The rear crossmember sits on aluminum bushings, all other bushings are urethane. The crossmember is adjustable to camber, caster and toe. Proshock coilvers are used as well as 800 lb springs with airbags. A Quickor 19mm sway bar with heim joints keeps the rear end in line. A SCCA and NHRA 8 point legal cage is in the car (the car is very stiff for a 510). Norskgog Digital Gauges are used for the speedo/tach with autometer for the water temp, oil pressure, and boost gauges and EGT. An AEM wideband 02 gauge is used. The car sits on 13x7 Libras with Summitomo 205/60/13. The front fenders are fiberglass, the rear window and quarters are lexan. A Courbou drivers seat is used with 4 point belts a 11.5 lb fiberglass seat is on the passenger side. The car needs a paintjob and some additional cosmetic work. mechanically everthing works and was built to withstand 500 +rwh. The car also comes with a set of cusom valved 90/10 front coilovers and a set of "skinnys" on 14"x 5.5 rims and a set of 13x7x 24.5 rear Micky Thompson slicks on 13x7 Libra wheels. The car with the L28et and a decent tune (300 rwh) should be capable of low 12's high 11's with the built L30 stroker motor and a 450+ rwh tune low 11's high 10's are possible. Neither motor that is being sold with the car has had any nitrous run through it. The nitrous setup although a port setup is only for drag strip duties and only a 50 horsepower shot. Neither motor that is being sold with the car has had any nitrous run throug them. The power that the T67 is capable of producing make the nitrous system moot (it is on the car only to spool the turbo at the strip ).The car is street legal and driven regularly and has spent it's life in the desert climate of central CA. With the six speed 30+ mpg is possible if driven in an adult fashion on the freeway. I am asking 10.5 k for the car if interested or have additional questions email me at ghavner510@gmail.com http://www.theturboforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=120441.0 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2071134/1971-datsun-510 Uploaded with ImageShack.us

After looking at several 260-280 z cars I finally found a rust free CA car with a decent interior and AC and AT . The plan is for a LQ9 Chevrolet 6 liter V8 with a auto trans and the suspension and brakes will be upgraded before hand. The L28 and auto currently in the car work great so it will be something to drive and have some fun with in the meantime. 5. I have a friend who still has all/most of the parts to put a KA24E turbo together,it is setup to use a napz 2.2 block. If you had to have something different and wanted higher horsepower potential than a stock KA it could be an option.
  6. I was hooking up an USB extention on the desktop and used a thumb drive to check the connection and came across these dyno sheets. It adds some motivations to get the "built" 3 liter back in the car and to pull the turbo( to be rebuilt) this weekend. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  7. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/38251-complete-differential-list-need-help/ A R200 from a 280zx with a 5 speed would yield a 3.90 rear end gear, putting a R200 in a 510 takes a little bit of grinding on the crossmember and a custom mustash bar. A friend of mine has swaped several of the OBX torsen LSD units into R200s going into LS series Chevy V8s with no reliability problems. http://www.ratdat.com/?p=292
  8. The car currently has 246 rwh at 7.5 psi and should have around 300rwh at 9.5 psi as soon as it's tuned. The car was on track to 500 rwh until the dual disc clutch slipped at 440 rwh at 18 psi, a tripple disc is in the car now. As far a making a L28et get 30 mpg, I could see mabey with a .75 overdrive with 3.33 gears I would also like to see how it would stack up in a freeway roll or a 1/4 mile run vs. my car. Uploaded with ImageShack.us This is an old dyno sheet with a large shot of nitrous Until the clutch slipped at 18 psi , the car was on track to make 500rwh. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  9. I didn't even show the nitrous plumbing (it was a mild PITA). The 510 weighs 2550 which I am sure is at least a 1k lighter that either the GTR or SHO, but the 510 has a drag CD of a shoebox. I have video at the track with my old setup small turbo, big nitrous. The plan is after the 3 liter gets put back in and the turbo gets new oil seals is 500rwh on 20-22 psi and another 100 rwh with a small shot of nitrous . Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  10. I posted previously that I was hoping for 30 mpg with a 3 liter Lseries stroker using an AEM EMS with full sequential injection and using a dual fuel gasoline /E85 setup. The primary(gasoline) injectors are Honda 240cc units when under boost the fuel is switched to E85 using 6 1600cc injectors and 2 380cc injectors. The results after 500 highway miles was 31 mpg , it should be mentioned that the transmission is a T56 six speed with a .75 and a .50 overdrive the engine turns only 2100 rpm at 70 mph. The motor used is a bone stock N/A N42 , the built 3 liter will probably suffer a slight mileage penalty. I was pleasantly suprised, I did use almost 2 gallons of E85, but that was only under boost and not regular (or legal) highway speeds. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  11. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/93737-norcal-bay-area-hybridz-bbq-2010/ I went last year and had a great time, I am thinking of being brave and driving the 510 from cen cal. I would suggest RSVP so that food supplies are adequate. Bring your ride and $5.
  12. Does the noise in the rear sound like a bearing or a U joint?
  13. My first 3 liter L series stroker motor was with 100k core motor VG30e pistons, the compression with an N42 head worked out to 10.1 to 1. 80 10 lb bottles of nitrous were run through this motor in a year with no ill effects, this was with crappy CA 91 oct.
  14. You can also use VG30 pistons they have the same pin height as a Z20 piston, but are a 2mm overbore.
  15. The dyno pack dyno is the most accurate dyno as there is NO wheel slip,IMO a 12.5 to 12.2 A/F ratio is a "safe" ratio for a N/A motor. http://dynapack.com/
