  1. That LD20 manifold (I looked at one on ebay) does look a lot like the gas L-series engine version. No personal idea what commonality the gas and diesel versions share though. I don't have much experience with A series engines myself, but have a friend who has many.
  2. Easy. You are not supposed to go into a burning building, so problem solved. Besides, they all think they are so smart or wonderful, they should be able to save themselves.
  3. Good find. I bought a few of those a couple years ago for an R180 I was rebuilding.

Stock L20B flywheel in cars was 200mm, 225 in trucks. You can probably use either. The clutch bearing collar will depend on the height of the pressure plate diaphragm. motor mounts- I don't know if truck mounting is different in the 521, but your comment should be correct. Other comments look correct.
  5. I second this. Those marks and the orientation seem somewhat odd to be typical damage. Some darkening or discoloring where the rings sat? Maybe clean up with a ball hone?
  6. There is the old adage- If you think it's fuel, it's ignition. If you think it's ignition, it's fuel. Webers tuned properly?
  7. I'm curious as to what failed first, and what symptoms you had. It looks from the ring gear wear patterns that engagement was good, but then something shifted and you had engagement at the inside diameter of the gear and thus damage to the nose of the pinion teeth. Bearing fail or side gears break or something else? You've also given me an idea of what to use old jean material for. 😀
  8. The country has always had a capacity to absorb immigration, and for the long range good. Problem is now, no limits. Those intent on letting anyone and everyone in of course are too stupid to realize that they are overwhelming and destroying the normal capacity of the country and organizations to deal with it. If you can help 1000 people effectively, but now add in 100,000, you can no longer help them effectively, even the first 1000. So in the end, you are not helping any of them and hurting the existing population as well as the newcomers. If there is no limitation to those who are legitimate "asylum" seekers, and no control on criminals etc. there is no benefit. Worst is the states and cities saying "let 'em all in, we're sanctuary cities", then moaning "wait, we didn't mean send them here. You keep 'em in Texas, Arizona, etc." Hypocrisy of the highest order.
  9. Yup, all makes sense now. I had not reconnected the dots of the 200SX meaning Z20. I was thinking L20B (S10) since they are also 85mm bore. Now that I looked back I get it.
  10. Look at SEM interior paints. If you prepare properly and use their adhesion promoter for plastics they work great. Lots of color choices too.
  11. Well not very exact. I mean, is it the South Farthing, West Farthing? Bywater, Hobbiton? Inquiring minds want to know. 😁
  12. I'm south of Flint in the I 96 corridor area, south of Howell.
  13. Well unfortunately my point flew right by you apparently, or you chose to morph it into something else you found more preferable to attack. It's not a competition, but the typically stated approach from most media sources is that conservative supporters have the propensity for violence, and liberals don't ever do any, when that is not factual. I don't think anyone here is celebrating violent political rhetoric (please, stop the premise that speech itself is violence). Yes, TJ likes the term "libtards". Personally not much of a fan of ad hominem (but Biden has lost it, so we can call him ___________ factually). I believe there may be a substantial number of pedophiles with Democratic voter registration. Some Republicans too probably, but the public supporters of most of the dangerous things espoused are liberals. If you personally don't feel concerned at all about the goal to sexualize young children and/or teach them age inappropriate materials, I suggest a bit more introspection. As to destroying the country, I would agree that there are many things happening that seem pointed to damaging if not eliminating the basic building blocks of civilization. much less the foundations of American civilization. I'm not trying to win, nor even convince you of anything. Your opinion of your opinion seems strong, but that doesn't make you correct about all subjects upon which you weigh in. You are not the only one who does research. Hope you are well sir.
  14. Another FWD limitation comes from the overall width of the transverse FWD engine/trans combo dimensions. At my former job we had the same vehicle with different turning circles between AT and MT versions due to the much larger packaging space required for the AT box. Thus different steering racks too. Talk about build complexity.
