Thanks for the heads up. Mike's front kit is nice since he includes the spacers.

Mike, if you're reading this, what do you have in stock right now? Are any of the old steel kits kicking around, or just aluminum now?

Japanese car day at Larz? I'm not sure yet. Would be fun to take the truck, but I need to get these brakes sorted and the bench seat is killing my back. Whoever did the reupholstery did a crap ass job and the bench is super squishy. That coconut hair crap is awful. I can't believe they put that stuff back in.

This winter I'll be doing a disc conversion. Crash, what M/C did you decide to go with?

Well, I drove this thing all over town yesterday, and now I'm longing for disc brakes. I took it for a state inspection and it passed no problem. I noticed that the brakes got progressively more "jerky" as the day went on. The new drum that I put on in the rear was getting HOT, so I backed it off a little bit.

I just put a $10 universal ignition switch in my roadster, but my ballast is bypassed, which made things a lot easier.

They have the seal and a bunch of other stuff for the 521 and a couple other models too....
Not to mention LS powered roadsters ....
Gonna save that link....

Crash, ProSource glass up here in Andover carries Roadster glass from time to time. Might check them if you ever need anything.

Yeah I know it...but still no better wealth of knowledge on old Datsuns than this place.

The roadster forum is the same way. The median age is, well, up there. The old timers know just about everything.

Was walking out of Pepboys on Saturday with my roadster shirt on, and some old guy stops me and goes "I have one of those!" (They're few and far between up here in New England.)

Hey, now you know where I'm coming from in my thread. Maybe I should upgrade my wiring

I'll be doing this pretty soon. What did you cut the rubber with?

I also have access to a Fortis 3D printer and have designed some parts. ABS plastic can be melted together once printed using acetone, sanded, and then painted. Here's the roadster center console:

My roadster has the one wire GM alternator swap, so I installed a voltmeter in place of the stock ammeter, and a more accurate water temp gauge.

I moved the ignition to the center console and deleted the steering column lock, since it is known for failing. The bottom parts are a replacement steering column trim clamshell design.

If on an iphone, there is an app for Imgur that makes it pretty easy to post pictures. Just copy the "direct" link, and paste it where the center asterisk is. Don't actually type the asterisks.

My idea was to have two additional relays. Run batt power to both of them, then have the low from the original trigger one, while the high on the original triggers the second one. Run (4) Hella e-codes with H4's all run in parallel such that they're all on for both the highs and the lows.

Will the stock voltage regulator handle a 60A alternator?

I have Mike's kit on my roadster. The Volvo girlings are a two fitting design, so I cross drilled the pots and capped the upper fitting port.

Charlie, I have access to a Trak DPM2. We'll most likely have a Hardinge lathe in the close future.
