Start them young and they learn to respect the firearm and are safer with it.

Exactly. Growing up we had a gun closet. It had a padlock on the door and that's where the firearms were kept. I knew I couldn't touch anything or go in there unless my dad was there, and I knew I'd get an ass kicking if I did and he wasn't. We used to go to the range and plink .22's when I was like 6 or 7, had my junior hunting permit at 12, and hunting permit at 16. Gun safety starts at an early age!

We're way past beginning this conversation.

Yeah, and the anti-gunners have blown it way out of proportion already. If there is one thing I've learned from the gun debate, there is no middle ground.

Semantics is his way of deflecting the issue. Makes him feel right and in his mind shows the speaker is wrong about everything they say.

Assault: a physical attack
Weapon: a thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage

So, by that definition, all rifles are assault rifles. Nice try, junior.

The monicker “assault rifle” was coined by the mainstream media to encompass all black scary looking rifles. Just because you can put attachments on picatinny rails doesn’t make it any more powerful than any other semi-auto rifle that accepts a magazine. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still just a pig.

The fact that people in here still refer to it as an assault rifle just shows that they have no basic understanding of firearms. Nothing worse than someone arguing about something they know nothing about.

I don't think too many would take issue if the teacher is qualified, trained, and willing.

I would. I don't think it's the right solution.

If teachers CCW, it gives gun access to ALL students.

We had a full time cop at my little podunk high school in Maine. He had a gun, and was part of the local PD. Great guy, and funny. He quickly became part of the "family." Almost blended in like another student. If you ask me, every school should do that.

FINALLY! Found it tonight during a quick stop at the grocery store. Funny thing is, it was 75 degrees here today (in February!), so I took my real roadster to the store.

Isn't it illegal to shorten the barrel????

Yup. Refer back to the "idiots" comment.

It's a Aimpoint CompM2 red dot. Had it sitting around for years, finally get to use it on something. Not sure if I'll stick with it or go with a Nikon p-223. +

I'm running the Nikon P-223 with BDC. Love it.

PSA is a shitty company. They take weeks and weeks to ship stuff that they claim is in stock.

I only buy stuff (well, used to, before MA sucked) from Primary Arms in Texas.

Installed the last 6 longer wheel studs on the truck, nothing exciting.

Then I installed a battery quick disconnect on the roadster, charged the battery, and blew the cobwebs out for a while. And by “blew the cobwebs out” I mean “flogged the fuck out of it around the block a few times.”

Green bean? As in, too much green?

I don’t know. There wheels come with huge chrome center caps that stick out really far. I think these look way better, despite being green. After I painted them I thought they would look way too decorative on an old truck. After I put this one on, I liked it a lot better, but time will tell. Worst case, I could just spray them black again.
