  1. 100mph gear ratio needs to be different for more I think. 72, L16, turbo.
  2. So wish I could make the trip, bring some tofu dogs, dill pickle and ketchup chips, and get some mirrors for my 720. Working wrecks all my fun :crying: but it does mean I have a little cash for mirrors B) Whadda ya say Ted? can ya hook me up? :)
  3. I had a 71 with the fender mount. I don't quite recall how I disconnected it but for sure the antenna is held to the fender with a thread on lock ring. I'm pretty sure I held pressure on it by pulling up on it while unscrewing the antenna, lefty loosey. On the inside just unplug it and pass it through. Once again, don't remember if the cord unplugs at the antenna end, think its hardwired and just feeds through from the inside. Hope that helps, good luck. I think you might be able to reach the lockring through the firewall where the electrical passes through, that might be how I undid it.
  4. Drill round plate steel in the 5 bolt pattern with a centre hole to fit the column and weld the hold down nut to it? been a while since I looked at the stock setup but I bet that would work, or something close to that anyway.
  5. FUUUUUUCKIN RIIIIIIIIIGHTS!!!!!!!! bananahamuck
  6. Looks good, good on gas, Datsun for your first car = win!. My advise, go for it. Get a manual, some metric wrenches, and know that anything you need to figure out with it down the road you can find the answer here with the search bar and a great community ready to help. You could always try and get it for a little less but thats not a bad price if it's running well.
  7. When I pulled the float out of mine (because the gauge wasn't moving) it was rusted solid. After 2 hrs. with a wire brush metal sand paper (fine) and lots of steel wool and WD40 all the rust was gone and my float gauge and fuel gauge worked as they should :). When your gas is below the float gauge pull it out and see. If you've got rust to work off be careful as there is a VERY thin copper wire that runs along the gauge, you dont want to break that (I didn't see it till I had half the rust off). Good luck!
  8. Check out http://dimequarterly.blogspot.ca and hit the online back issues page. Pretty sure they did an article on that.
  9. Good to know, thanks for posting. I went with roadster hub and rotor with volvo callipers. if I hadn't found these ready to go for a 411 this info would have been vital to my stopping power. Thanks again.
  10. Dibs, I will take these, you've got pm
  11. A little off topic but what is the offset on those sweet VTO's and what size tire's do you have mounted on them. I am wanting to pick up a set for my 411, not sure which offset to go with in the 14" rims. Also, it looks as if they will "tuck in" when it's lowered, is that your impression as well?
