#1523850 SR20 NA header help

Posted by Shaker on 16 October 2017 - 07:16 AM

Custom Fabrication is what is needed. The thing about Swapping engines and Building cars is that bolt on's don't bolt on. Find a shop to make you what you need or buy something close then make it what you need yourself.

The gauges I just want new modern aftermarket ones as well a GPS Speedo. There's no reason other than I want to. The Boost, RPM and UEGO gauges need to bemounted somewhere to.

What model Toyota and Year? I was thinking something like a custom Mustang II front end. I want Coilovers and Bigger brakes. Something that will be able to handle high speed corners.

So this Winter's Parts Acquisition & Research List is -

To find out what front end to swap in or find a shop that can build me a custom IFS Front end. I would like something with a normal 5 Bolt pattern.

1 Piece Aluminum driveshaft

Gauges built into OEM Housing - Talked to the guys over at http://newvintageusa...igcommerce.com/and they seem willing to build something for me.

FMIC Intercooler and universal piping kit

Radiator Hoses

Z32 MAF

Tonneau Cover

Seat Brackets from http://www.plantedte...river-left.html

Hydraulic Hand Brake http://www.asdmotors...l-back-e-brake/

Plus a whole bunch of other small parts but I`ll keep updating when I`ve acquired parts.

If you have any info on anything I`m looking for or suggestions in general, I`d love to hear.

#1515992 1985 LED headlights?

Posted by Shaker on 09 September 2017 - 04:05 AM

I recently bought an 85 720 King Cab and did a google search for headlight replacements which brought up tons of HID, LED and stock replacements. I was thinking about going with LEDS but don't want to order the wrong ones. Has anyone switched to LEDS? Thanks for any info.

I`m going with these. Some think they are ugly but I guess I like ugly lol. Oh and sorry they are not a cheap option.

#1515758 Old Topic with a twist

Posted by Shaker on 08 September 2017 - 04:45 AM

It can be done, I just got my SR fired up in my 81 720. But yes there is ALOT of work. The exhaust needs Fab work or a Different Front end. I`m swapping the front end or having one custom built since there are not any pre built performance suspension for the 720s and I`ll probably end up changing the rear end as well. With motor and Parts I`ve bought and stuff on Order I`m pushing 10K Canadian in Parts alone on top of that I had the body and Frame refurbished which puts me around 19K all in right now and I`m still expecting it to take another 10K to finish everything the way I want.

Just know if you dive into this project it can very easily get carried away and make you want to toss in the towel, But F that I`m happy happy happy with my build.

First start up of the SR finally happened. Sounded pretty good to me. Was a little worried because when we replaced the the Water Pump the old one had no fins left.

See the Video here :)

Started putting in the Wiring Specialties Harness https://drive.google...mljRk5FTjg/view, Still have to do the underneath bits. So I bought one of those Slick Can Am boxes and my Harness was ordered with flying leads https://drive.google...GpBUXk0bFE/view,

Now here is where Wiring goes over my head. I understand I run power to the Can Am Box and Ground it, Then from there do I just put wires from the Flying Leads and Wherever else to the Can Am FP, ECCS and Run Slots? I feel like I should be Splicing somewhere too.

Just FYI I`m keeping the Chassis Harness for Signals, Lights, Heater, Etc. Just confused and could use some input here.

Also I installed my B&M Shifter.
