Plan on having the engine given a once over by a local Datsun mechanic. For the most part the truck runs fine just a little hiccup here and there. Dropped off the door card to be fixed, going to put some water resistant backing in it and replace all the clips.
Oo another note is the choke supposed to be hard to pull? Mine works just need to use force to pull it out.
Maybe your dip stick tube is cracked or loose at the bottom, I am not inclined to tell you to pull on it to see if it will come out as I am afraid you could break it, but that is what I would do, but I have the tools to extract the broken part if it did break on me, not sure about your tool collection.
Have you tried cleaning it with a spray cleaner of some type like Lectra-Motive and then using some kind of heat resistant glue/epoxy/gasket maker around the base to stop the leak?
Nah, only thing I did was spray some carb cleaner on the block and wipe it down to see if I could pinpoint it. Still not %100 sure and don't have the tools to extract it if it breaks so I won't mess with it until someone who knows more than me looks at it.
Vent hose goes to the stock air filter housing, so how would I check for a stuck valve?
Which top nut? I can adjust the ride height in the front without re indexing it?
Also Driver side door handle shit the bed today. Outside handle stopped working...Screw (screw with a bunch of washers on it)that allows the plastic arm to release fell out. I was able to save it but the nut is gone. Going to be bitch putting that screw back in with the nut on the backside. Also the door card is all dead on he backside and the metal clips holding it on pretty much detached from the card. Which sucks.
Hope you don't have to much OCD . Cause Datsuns at this age leak oil. Otherwise youll have to replace the head gasket if it really bothers you. Then next oil pan gasket. ooil sender switch may leak also. then the front and real seal.

I just leave my heater ON. as it don't put out much heat anyways but enough to keep me from freezing
Going to make you wish had it even more because 99% of seals have already been replaced... head gasket the only that wasn't.
New seals including rear main, timing cover, valve cover, valve stem, and oil pan (2010)
New oil pressure switch (2016)
New front main seal (2016)
So might as well do that one and button up whatever else I can find. Also I think the heater is on already, but I would still like the switch to work. What are people doing about radios in these?
There is a good possibility that the truck is a "stock blue" The paint looks to be in very good condition, but also it could have been repainted. There is also a possibility that the truck lived a charmed life, and was garaged. Are there some stickers on the top of the radiator support, one having some emission control information, and another with the paint code?
Yeah they are there but the paint code is blank where it usually would be.
I couldn't find any evidence of a respray either but I am not a professional by any means.

When u did comression was engine warmed up and throttle wide open and did u use screw type of tester.
Nah, seller did it and told me the results. Like I said the truck started and drove without issue so I took his word for it. The only thing I noticed was a slight hesitation around 65MPH on the freeway but cruising around it was fine.
