A roll pan with 62-67 Corvette taillights would look cool.

Those would work nice... probably closer to what it would actually look like... I always had a skylines taillights in my head when I think of it...

I got a set of taillights for you. In really good shape just had the frames powder coated, lens are good and back housings have a lot of life in them.PM me i might part with them.

I appreciate the offer...
i actually eventually wanna do a roll pan back there and maybe flush some round lights into it.
Right now I'm just trying to use what I have to get back on the road And then I can modify and upgrade from there...

Just some pics of the wipers and mirror...

the wipers arms were painted black semi gloss, I think I need some new blades. Ones I had seem a bit old.. I probably installed them 15 years ago..

In order to make the mirror work I mounted it upside down and was able to rotate the mirror so the day/night lever was still on the bottom....

#1546739 Where to buy.84 Hitachi carb parts

Bushing throttle shafts have been being done as long as I can remember. Rods Carbs here in Phoenix has been Installing throttle shaft bearings on my Webers since the 70s. Their name has changed I have been buying new Webers for several years but I will still buy a reasonably priced Weber and rebuild it for a spare.

For $20 that seems like an upgrade anyone running the 32/36 weber should do...

Turns out the sound was the fan hitting the shroud at the bottom

Good find... glad it was nothing serious..

Which seals did you buy? The look to fit good.

They did... I know it was an eBay purchase... I bought all the seals over 3 years ago...

It I turn the motor over by turning it by the cam sprocket bolt instead of the crank pulley bolt will it cause slack in the chain?

Yes... you should use the crank bolt...

Apparently didn't take a pic with the wiper arms on... but wipers are on...

Also glued a puck in place on the windshield to mount a rear view mirror... maybe later I'll spend the money on a correct one later....

Oh also found this...

The only way I can get the distributor drive spindle to match the cap is to have it at a 1:35 ish position, I can not get the 11:25 to match the cap even though I put the timing chain on correctly.

This statement is a little off.... the timing chain technically won't have an effect on the oil drive spindle..
The oil pump/ dizzy drive spindle is driven off the crank gear...

Again if the crank is a tdc it honestly doesn't matter where the rotor points as long as it points to a plug wire and that becomes number 1....
The 11:25 is where it should be but doesn't have to be....

I'll give you the short answer and datzenmike or hainz can finish...

As long as the crank is at tdc on the number one compression stroke and the cam timing marks are lined up you'll be fine...
As far as the dizzy.... as long as the rotor is pointing to a plug wire that becomes number one on the firing order.. .

Thanks about the bumper..
And Ya the whole bed is a little ruff not just the tailgate.. remember it was a trailer before I bought it.
The sides were straight, the mounts were solid and the tailgate functioned properly so I'm not so worried about the cosmetics.. it will fit in with the rest of the dents the truck has... added character....

Well the weather is getting tolerable... mid 40s after work means I can get stuff done .... I generally get an hour after work a couple days a week to get work done on the datsun before I gotta get inside to the family...

Well today i smoothed over the holes

20180214_150600.jpg

and welded some bolts into the buppertettes...
20180214_150613.jpg

I was hoping they would be a little tighter to the lights and bottom of the bed but there they are... good enough for inspection...

20180214_153928.jpg

I do have some room on the bracket.... I still might slot the bolt hole and then I can probably get them atleast an 1/8 or so closer....
