  1. Im fairly certain the valves were just adjusted poorly, the valves for cylinder 3 were very loose.
  2. After replacing the dizzy cap and spending some time with a feeler gauge, car runs like a dream. Greatly appreciate all the help and advice, don't know where I'd be without this forum.
  3. After completely replacing the wiring harness and having the engine rebuilt at a reputable local machine shop, I still have a miss in cylinder 3. Plugs 1, 2, and 4 are fouled normally, 3 is clean as a whistle. Have replaced plugs and plug wires, to no avail. Also swapped in a Pertronix electronic ignition setup. Anything stupid I'm overlooking? Been working on this car for a year and a half now and I'm convinced it'll do anything to stay in the garage.
  4. ***Big Update*** Head removed and shaved, valve job, angle grind, etc Interior panels removed Wiring harness being removed entirely to be replaced Engine/trans being pulled, block being sent to machine shop Sending to redneck buddy to be painted dark metallic grey (Subaru color, paint code 61k) Will post pictures when I see her next, shockingly rust free
  5. There's not a whole lot original on this car lol. Someone's done a lot of work to it, and I guess the trans was some of it
  6. There is a certain mystery to it, yeah. The only stamped number I could find starts with HLB210. I'll update you with the exact number when I get home. The shift pattern on the gearshift has reverse top left, but I won't know for sure until it runs and I can find out.
  7. Datzenmike, I'm almost certain it's a '74, and I was kinda curious as to why all the manuals I read never mentioned a 5-speed or a GX. Someone probably snagged that badging off another car, along with the trans and the steering wheel. I'm also either searching it up the wrong way, or something, because all searches i've done on the number turn up no results. Very interesting car. And thanks Dguy, was wondering what I did wrong. And yes, lots of work. At least most of it seems like solid work.
  8. If you couldn't tell by the username, I picked up my first Datto - and coincidentally, my first car - about a month ago, and this forum has been extremely helpful to me. So, I figured I'd make a build thread about the car I've been asking questions about. She's a 1974 B-210, with the A13 (bitch to find parts for, btw) and a 5-speed manual. Paid $1,000 for her - not running, but I think I've narrowed it down to a wiring issue. I believe the car was origionally yellow, and painted a maroon color. Unfortunately, not the best paint job. Lots of flakes and filler showing. Rust isn't that bad at all. She has some aftermarket Keystone rims, which i've been told to hold on to. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f302/thiscatbites134/20161007_175725_zpshd1mesvb.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f308/Ryan_Marlman/20161207_170736_zpsrdr2quj2.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f308/Ryan_Marlman/20161207_170727_zpsvzihzbmy.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f308/Ryan_Marlman/20161207_170718_zpscxvmavnv.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f308/Ryan_Marlman/20161207_170753_HDR_zpsqg5hn5is.jpg Interior was redone - pretty damn well, imo. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f302/thiscatbites134/20161207_170827_zpsdnzfhzfi.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f302/thiscatbites134/20161207_170805_zpswyedd48a.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f302/thiscatbites134/20161011_073447_zpseamjirsq.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f302/thiscatbites134/20161011_073440_zps7epjdmyf.jpg Obligatory engine bay shot. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f308/Ryan_Marlman/20161103_150645_zpsfrhxjjzv.jpg Since this photo was taken, I've replaced the fuel pump, swapped to an electric distributor, and cleaned up the alternator. Note the nice 32/36 sitting on top. That and amazing compression test results lead me to believe the engine's been rebuilt, hopefully with some performance goodies. Got a new coil and other miscellaneous bits on order. Muffler's blown up and the header is rusted to hell, so I'm planning on having the whole shebang redone by the local muffler guy. I haven't touched the brakes yet, but the PO said the rears were leaking real bad. That ought to be fun. Right now I'm just trying to get her running, but she does have future racecar written all over her.
  9. Wondering if the A13 motor in my B210 is worth trying to build? If not, other motors that would swap in without too much heartache? Love the car, just that ~78 hp just ain't gonna cut it for me. Thanks. I'll post pictures and such soon.
  10. Psh, they'd probably return it if they stole it. Not sure anybody would want a '97 D20 anyways lmao
  11. That's the first place I checked, to see if the po left one there. I have one under the bedliner of my truck, though.
  12. Like a dumbass, I managed to lose the only key to my car. Saw something about a key code on a different thread, so I went ahead and found a 5-digit code on the passenger side lock cylinder that I believe is said code. Would I be able to take this code to my local locksmith and have a key made? If not, what steps should I take? Thanks.
  13. Yeah, I saw the classified section right after I posted this. Not quite intelligent enough to figure out how to delete it, though.
  14. Anyone have one of these, or could point me in the right direction? Thanks.
  15. Nothing noticeable happens, but the car also doesn't run yet. Just wondering if anyone else had encountered anything similar
