  1. Thanks! Unfortunately, no. It was not close enough to get an air hose to it & It took some pedal pressure to clear the lines anyway. Once I get everything adjusted properly I'm going to stand on the brakes to check the integrity of the hard lines.
  2. Definitely not the first time I've rocked those wheels on one of my rides.
  3. Well, after another three hours & four quarts of brake fluid I got the rest of the brakes done & flushed what appeared to be runny oatmeal with raisins out of the entire brake system & got them at least functioning, ill have to finish adjusting them to get them safe. In the meantime, for all you picture whores...
  4. They are a bit tight, I'm 6'4", basically drive with your legs splayed open. I always wanted to graft the caddy rear to a two door rabbit front, that would give another 9-10" to the cab.
  5. Soo... if you have to resort to pulling the hub to get the drum off the front, how are you removing the rear drums?
  6. 195/50/15s? I thought about going with a lower sidewall it didn't want to throw off the final drive ratios but so much. Looks good, now you just need to lower a bit more (aesthetically, the gap between the tire & fender should be half the sidewall height).
  7. Yeah, I'm still not looking forward to this part.
  8. Not trying to bore y'all again... but... I pulled the left rear apart to replace the brake parts there too & you can see that the shoes had delaminated. If you look at the adjuster, you can see that the brakes had never been adjusted, at least not properly. Upon re-installing everything, I realized that the only adjustment ever done was to use the parking brake as the adjustment for the rear shoes. I'll have to loosen the parking brake before I can adjust the shoes. Just a down & dirty way of cleaning the center bore on the drum, I spun it on one of the old brake shoes.
  9. It's been running since the carb rebuild, I still need to drop the tank & flush it & the lines, get the brakes working, since it's an automatic it's all go once in gear & replace the water pump & radiator. After it's drivable then I'll get the exhaust replaced, it's rotted off after the flange to the manifold.
  10. I gots mad skills with the BFH. "Mad" being the operative word.
  11. I drained the 25 year old fuel out of it
  12. I drained the varnish out of the tank today... At least until the shellac blocked the drain hole, I drained about 6 gallons out.
  13. Because most of us VW people are too cheap to try to afford a VW truck any more.
  14. Who you are, Letting another man toss your salad.
