  1. so i did buy the L18 block and w53 head. also i did fix my carb issue. i put a stock carb back on that was donated to me. after doing quick clean up i replaced the weber with the stock and and with a little tuning, problem solved. and the turbo plans are still a go
  2. Yea I guess your right. And yea I have a tach, but my whole dashboard does not work lol
  3. Lol since my tires obviously ticked off many of you here let me just note that yes I do like them but I did not install them. They were on the truck when I bought them. I do plan on changing them in the future for performance reasons. But until then Im gonna keep them. They are to small tho. They are 15x10s. IMA get something a little bigger because my rpm is way to high on the highway (even though Imy aware that most if not all 4 speed l16 have same issue). So calm down, like I said I've only had this since june and have so many things to do to it. But just a hits and giggles I LOVE THESE WHEELS!!! let's see how many more complain especially after that statement hahaha
  4. thats awesome. and i was actually gonna buy a rebuild kit for it already. ima wait though because im going to pick up an l20b w53 head and l18 block this weekend. and yea i already went to the library, they actually have the manual for my truck. and im definatlly gonna be posting pics as i progress with the build.
  5. So just to give a better understanding of the situation with the carb letc me explain My truck starts right up when cold but as soon as it gets hot it starts to hesitate and I have to constantly play with the throttle to keep it alive. When I turn it off ithe keeps pouring into the main barrel. It's even worse with the air filter on. Still gonna check what was suggested earlier just thought I would share that info.
  6. Thanks will definatly check that out as soon as I get the chance. Will do lol
  7. Well the truck is barely getting started. Ive only had it since june. And flares are definitely coming soon. I'm gonna try to make them myself and if I fail I'll buy some. I'm gonna get a full interior restore. I have to weld my floor pans because basicly other than the floor mat there is nothing there lol. There's a lot planned but time and money delay the build.
  8. Lmao haha got jokes that's cools funny thing is I don't even know what that is and you do so you must talk from experience
  9. Well I like the wheels. We all have different taste
  10. I apreciate your concerns. I will be as carefull and detailed as I can. Will definatly keep Every1 posted. And Flat Flatcat19 thanks for that info. My truck does run and I do enjoy it very much. I've mainly been concentrating on the looks for now since its so easy and I love doing lots of diy. But I do want to start building the other engine to swap. My truck is sloooooooowwwwwww. Maybe I'll take Every1s advice tho and just build the engine as a N/A first.
  11. Well I checked the carb. The previous owner said it was running rich. So my buddy and I took it apart. 1. Main air jets were backwards and an Emulsion tube was missing. So I bought the Emulsion tube and put everything back together how it gos. But it still floods. So now I'm gonna check the float. Just haven't had time until the weekend. Honestly everything I know I've self taught myself from messing up and learning from my mistakes. I will be asking for help and taking my time with it making sure everything gos on correctly. But I totally understand and apreciate the advise.
