#1498502 Sliding window install?

Posted by 7twentyguy on 22 June 2017 - 08:04 AM

Welcome Matt,

Are your 84 & 85 the same cab? If so you could probably just swap the whole glass & frame. Be careful the head liner is tucked into the rubber seal in the back glass, check your rubber seal for dry rot, once you pull out the frame there may be no going back without a new fresh seal. Either way I believe you will have to remove the back glass.

I have repurposed my old Harley exhaust, Cycle Shack baloney slice with a Y split out the center of the back under the roll pan, the exhaust is baffled so it's quieter than straight pipes.

I won't be using my original hood, I picked up a spare last year its got a few small dents. If it doesn't look good it's not a big loss. Before anything gets cut I need to see if I can get the hypercharger to work properly, if it doesn't work I'm only out for the price of the part and my time and effort.

Has anyone tried a hypercharger intake (Harley) on their Z24 motor? It has that old school bug catcher look and the butterflies open and close by vacuum. I picked one up over the weekend. Has anyone done this before?

Once you get the screw out I believe the whole thing slides up not out.

Great event last year, even when it started raining! I see cars are $10 bucks does that mean trucks are free?

Well, she's finally home from paint. I'll start working on the 4X4 leafsprings this weekend. The paint is Hot Rod Flatz LeMans blue.

I was afraid that would be the case. I guess I'll just keep looking till I find a set. I don't know if I trust buying aftermarket, plus they seam kind of expensive.
Thanks for the input.

Hey Ratsunites,
I've got a question, I've read the threads about changing out leaf springs for 4x4 springs to get a lower drop, my question is are there any other nissan 4x4 springs that will do the same thing? Could I use hard body springs, are early hard body frames the same as 720's? I can't seem to locate any 720 4x4's in the wrecking yards in my area.Any help would be great.
Thanks

Hello, I'm a new member but long time lurker. I own a 85 720ST. Picked it up from the original owner. This is my second 720, I bought my first one new in 1982.I'm doing all of the things I could not afford to do back then. So far I've added bell tech dropped spindles,4"blocks out back,Z71 16"wheels & I took an old baffled exhaust from my Harley and put it behind the back wheel. I've removed the back bumper and had a roll pan welded on. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. It's late and this old man needs his sleep.
