  1. I recently did a water pump on my 76 620, and the new pump I got from Oreily’s has a clutch on it that is way bigger than the old one so my fan doesn’t fit it. After a decent amount of forum sleuthing, I can’t figure out what fan that I need. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. So, my 76 620 skipped 2 teeth on the cam gear, and having never done it before, my dumb ass made the mistake of not wedging the timing chain. Over the past couple days, I pulled the timing cover, reset the timing, and shoved the tensioner back in place. I have it all back in one piece, and it wont start, I think i messed up with the distributor timing, i didn't know that the oil pump and the distributor were connected, so i just put it in where it fit. All the videos i can find on this are done on v8's, how do i reset the oil pump/distributor timing?
  3. I bought my truck a couple months ago as a project. i was told it was a airport fleet vehicle, with 9000 ORIGINAL miles on the odometer I am relativley certain its bull shit. is that actually possible? i don't know. this is my first datsun and i am already in love with it. as for my plans, i toyed around with the idea of a ca18det swap i liked it because it is essentially a 4 cylinder RB engine, or the more conventional KA24. but I ended up with a ford 302 motor and trans out of a 81 foxbody. and i got a 9 inch posse rear end for free, to eliminate the weird stock 620 gearing (and burnouts of course) it made the most sense for my goals and budget. I came to the forum for some advice on as to how i should go about this feat and what should expect. Thanks!
