  1. Does the shifter even make it into place for 5th and reverse or can you not even move it there?
  2. I love that color! Tell me more about it
  3. I learned how to weld on the 80 or so holes in the bed of mine! olskool720, I have been planning on painting mine in the exact same pattern as your for quite a while but never knew what it would look like! I'm going with more of a deep red for the bottom and an off-white cream for the top with some white accents here and the as well. I love it!
  4. Really impressed how clean it's looking! Gives me hope for my beater lol [edit] Let us know how the install of the Weber 38 goes, it seems a 32/36 swap is more common for the 720 but a 38/38 would give more fuel and power. Here's to hoping it's as straightforward as swapping in a 32/36
  5. See I'm thinking more of finding a junkyard alternator that tests good and doing the work myself for like $30 total And yeah that pinstriping can not get off fast enough! I'm planning on doing an oxblood/off white color scheme soon
  6. I'm experiencing nearly identical problems. Rebuilt my 1985 Z24's carburetor and noticed the anti dieseling (I assume the same part as the idle) solenoid was missing it's needle and spring. For about a week after it being rebuilt It ran as perfectly as I've ever seen. Just yesterday though the idle became really rough like it was before the rebuild, and taking it out for a drive it would stall any time I wasn't babying the throttle. Also the exhaust sounds like there's a compression leak (sort of a shuh noise) though I adjusted the valves about a month ago to fix a misfire. I screwed with the idle adjust screw and fuel adjustment screw enough that it does idle now though rather high, and it's back to running very rich. I did notice in the carb rebuild the wires to the solenoid were not only twisted heavily but the insulation was breaking apart and falling off. Should I try to find another carburetor for it's solenoid or what can be done with the needle/spring missing as it is now?
  7. Whoops, searched for it and apparently didn't dig far enough. Thanks!
  8. Hey all. I'm planning on adding some lights and eventually sound system to my '85 720. I have worries the factory 50 amp alternator won't be too happy running all that and the vehicle, what are my options for using different alternators with light modifications? I'm thinking a standard Chevy 350 alternator looks very close and could work, has anyone done swaps and have some input on what works and what doesn't? Thanks!
  9. There's a whole DET engine+trans from a 240SX for sale near me for $500, it has low compression on a cylinder and will probably be rebuilt anyways, but comes with a bunch of upgraded stuff like bigger injectors and a Nistune ECU. It's the only one for sale near me unfortunately, otherwise I pull a 12 valve KA24E out of a 93 hardbody at the local scrapyard and build that into a turbo engine
  10. Following, I plan on rebuilding a DET to swap in my 720 as well. Excited to see someone else doing it at the same time!
  11. Well technically the grill was lowered as well B)
  12. Couple important modifications I've gotten done 1986 Celica buckets installed to replace the worn-out bench Also lowered and painted the grill, the roof rack was just on for shits and giggles and rattles like death if any speed faster than 45 is reached
  13. Just picked this guy up about a week ago '86 5-speed, plans to lower by 2-3" and leave ratty until I have the money for a new bed and good paint, maybe even a boosted KA24 or SR/RB20 swap First Nissan, last car was a rusted out Volvo 240 that had nowhere near the potential this has
