  2. All, I got my 810 dash pad re-wrapped and I think it looks pretty cool. It is not a vacuum job like it comes from the factory. Instead it is wrapped with real high grade leather and is stitched at the corners and the front. see pictures. If anyone is interested, the guy said he could do them in any color leather you want. He is working on a 76 celica pad for a cousin right now in tan. I paid $250 for it which is not too bad considering it was cracked to hell and like I said it is done with leather not vinyl.
  3. Thanks guys. I'll bring it back to life hopefully not to far in the future. I found a guy who had one about 30 miles from me but he cut it up and sold it as scrap metal, go figure. At least he has some parts I'll pick up from him. As far as engine swaps in the starion, I have thought about it but it's in too nice a car to mess with. If anything its getting a 4g63t in it.
  4. That's what I initially though but no, its a cassette deck.
  5. I only have these since I have to pick it up and bring it over to my house.\ and here's my starion
  6. Well like I said I'm not planning on selling it especially once I see it done. I'll be on here quite a bit checking stuff out. It's gonna be a long process since I am working on a 914 too. I am getting ready to strip it and remove the engine to get it ready for paint. Thanks for the replies.
  7. Thanks for the response. I have rebuilt a couple of cars. 1 being my 88 mitsubishi starion that I purchased as a shell. I did all the work myself except for paint. I love driving it because there are not many clean ones around. I have even won awards at import shows before. So I understand getting pleasure out of doing the work yourself. Also, when I buy a car to restore, I cant sell them once they are complete even if I wanted to, i just cant bring myself to do it. As far as the 810, i simply have never seen one. When I purchased it, It had been sitting in a backyard for years and I finally stopped by and asked the owner what his plans were for it. So I don't know much about the car other than I think its going to look pretty cool when I'm done with it. Like you mentioned, I hear about the 510 and the Z cars but not the 810s. Just wondered if they are rare or desired as other Datsuns are.
  8. Hello everyone. i am new to the forum and had a few questions. I purchased a 78 810 a few months back and I am getting ready to start work on it. The car is complete and its a stick. I purchased it because i liked it, I haven't seen another one before and pictured it restored. I have done tons of searching and it looks like parts are scarce. My question is, are these cars popular for restoring or am I just going to dump money in it without any hope to recoup anything. I don't plan to sell it but I would like to know if they are worth anything once restored. Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks.
