  1. so since I got it in my garage, i actually managed to do something to it. the truck had been in a minor fender bender, and it had broken the grille in several places, bent the tar out of the bumper, and broken the chin valence. luckily i had replacements for all of these, except my replacement grille I had is a late model style for the 79 parts truck. oh well, its a place holder in the meantime. one of the bumper brackets was bent too so the bumper isn't sitting quite right, will have to get the brackets off the parts truck this weekend. this amount of work took me literally 4 weeks to complete, thats how little time ive had to work on it, and thats my reasoning for why i haven't gotten to the big stuff that needs to be done. any ways, some pics for you guys
  2. not dead, just busy. truck is still with me. just got the title to the parts truck yesterday so i can finally get that gone now that everything is stripped off of it. still haven't done the wiring, still haven't patched the floors. its now in its rightful place in the garage though. and yeah i posted it on CL to see if any offers come up. my daily got totaled in july and had to buy another car so funds are low. if someone came with an offer I'd let it go. only posted it because of my wifes suggestion. I don't want to get rid of it, we'll bounce back financially, and the truck can sit around my place :)
  3. back up to my place to help me with this wiring? XD
  4. -cant figure out how to delete this post that the quote got messed up, so disregard-
  5. and thats why ive been at a virtual standstill with my project. wiring scares the shit outta me. if I get it wrong the truck is toast. and the P.O. changed some stuff with the factory ign system so I'm almost afraid to proceed.
  6. so guys, I have had to completely redo all my wiring in my 74 620 with L18. the previous owner did some "custom" wiring with some new school relays and stuff, but the truck doesn't run. he had also done some less than stellar wiring elsewhere so i started over with the wiring, scavenging from my spare 1979 harness. i have all my lights and stuff working, but I just cannot figure out how to set up the wiring for the ignition system. it has a GM internally regulated alternator, but i dont have any factory relays, if there were any. it still has the points and condenser distributor. I have a print out of the 1974 wiring diagram, but im not sure how I would go about wiring everything back together. if i had the parts I would revert it back to stock, but i don't. can anyone provide me any guidance on even where to begin? im trying to use the factory harness plugs, i don't want it wired directly to the ign switch as the previous owner had it. thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
  7. so I got the headlight wiring separated from the 79 harness. i just have to get eh correct round style pin connectors, crimp them onto the wires and get them into the plugs. then I need to connect them to the ground wire pack, and it should be finished. then I need to figure out what to do about the ignition system. after that I should be good to go! anyone have any knowledge of wiring an ignition system?
  8. thats what I was thinking maybe. my factory hood has one small half dollar sized dent in it, must be in need of a new hood haha. that what i was gonna ask i think. i got it with my parts truck (read mistake) i bought before the one im repairing, came with alot of sheet metal, including some a NoS hood, door, and fender.
  9. i want what its worth, but i don't want to gouge a fellow enthusiast at the same time. I think $100 is way too low regardless if its OEM or aftermarket, just trying to feel out what its worth from y'all. but yeah, if he pays me 175.63 in only silver change, he better have some old tin pennies haha
  10. i guess thats what I need to find out.
  11. those are pretty sick! are they 620 specific? hid or do they take a regular bulb? where'd you order them from
  12. its never been installed, hes had its since the 90's. i suppose it could be a really old repop. he had a box for it but it was all ripped apart, i guess i should've asked then. 175.63 is oddly specific, but it shows I'm firm on price. I like it
  13. So I got a guy who wants to buy my NoS hood. I honestly don't know what such a part would be worth. He offered me $100, which feels low to me. Anyone have an idea what these have sold for in the past? A rudimentary Google search came up empty, as well as a look through the classifieds
  14. had never heard of Gosport, I'm just up the road aways in Lafayette. will be cool to see on the road when you get it done!
