.....That "intake tube" is important to the operation of everything. The IACV needs metered air after the MAF for the engine to run correctly. Leaks in the intake will make it run like cr@p. Try some spray carb or MAF cleaner in the IACV also. Knock Sensor is $40 on rockauto.com FYI...

Pump(s) dont help. FML. Seems like it is starving for fuel, this pump is wailing like the walbro which is a sign of low fuel volume input. I even blew out the line back to the tank with low pressure compressed air to make sure it is not clogged.

Im going to drop the tank and see if I can install a new Aeromotive in tank pump and fuel pressure regulator and new fuel lines.


Cant really drive it because it sputters and surges above 2500 RPM.

The more I think about it - - - Mikey's explanation makes perfect sense.

The rad support bows in (away from the engine) after '75 to accommodate the larger (longer) L20.

OP, look at a '79-82 Mazda RX-7 Rad. Someone here installed one and the hoses are on the correct side and the size is close.
