  1. Oh - @Morrisun I remembered those struts are from 200SX (nearly sure). They should be proper for a bolt-on big brake converson, one of the combos on the wiki. I pulled them for it, just never got around to installing it. It should be from the same donor car as the EFI from the trunk of the sedan you took. The H150 was pulled in the early 80's off a salvage B210 with 18k miles, then stored in a shed for 20 years. I got the engine and rear end together with one of those beastmode (63A?) 5 speeds. I put the engine in the powder blue sedan and it was pristine, so I imagine the diff is too.
  2. Glad they've gone to a good home! Maybe I'll be back someday.
  3. I used to be into 1200's, but haven't had one in years. I'm moving and everything I have left is up for grabs. Couple of sedan grills, manual brake pedal (great for auto conversions), various trim, back seats, front seats, a clean dash, ducting, center console, looks like I still have quite a bit. I feel like a sinner for saying it, but I have to toss it if no one wants. No picking, take it all. I sold a mess of stuff to someone a long time ago but I can't remember his name. If you know someone who will take this stuff, hit them up! I have to be completely out of the house by the 1st. David
  4. I set the float per the manual and got no gas. I did check the needle etc as well. I checked the fuel pump, 5psi pressure which is higher than spec as far as I can tell. A new fuel pump has the same pressure, so I'm confident its not the pump. Tested the line from the tank and fuel flowed freely. I'm digging now looking for what could be causing, and this is the only thing I've found out of order. There was some gunk in the bottom of the slow jet bore but not much. When I reassemble I will set the float to spec, but I need this spring first. Thanks! -david
  5. Yes, the spring is missing. I'm having problems with the bowl either emptying completely or overfilling, can't seem to get float set right. I'm thinking the suction from the accelerator pump output tube in the air flow may be pulling gas from the bowl. Popping and flooding, very strange symptoms.
  6. I have a '73 620, manual trans. DCH340-12 carb. I've been working on a power problem and finally took the carb apart, found a missing part that doesn't come in the kit. Overall the carb seems in OK shape but I can't get this part anywhere. Its the check valve in the accelerator pump output - the weight and spring on top of the ball bearing check valve is totally missing. Someone thought it would be a good idea to just toss a second ball bearing in there. Let me know if you have a junk carb or a serviceable one would work too.

    Suzuki G13b swap

This morning has been great. A couple weeks ago the wind blew the flap back on my storage tent and the front quarter of my '71 sedan peeked out from inside. I have not worked on my cars in a couple of years, had another kid, got a promotion, blah blah - standard stuff. Seeing the sedan out there got me thinking, and I walked out there and sat in the driver's seat today. The datsun smell.. I'm bit by the bug again. So, here's the deal. I had a swap idea YEARS ago, probably 7-8 years ago by now. I went out looking for a modern engine with DOHC design that was the right size and weight for the 1200, what I found was jack and sh1t because RWD small cheap simple cars vanished in the '80's. Eventually I found this. Suzuki engine, all aluminum, forged all through from the factory, DOHC, 8000 redline. They came in the Swift GTi here in the US, I've driven one and it revvs for EVER with a wide wide power band. Unfortunately its a FWD engine, BUT - its based on the G13 block which every little Suzuki around had. This includes the SOHC engine in the Samurai, which is a RWD/4WD. Long story short - it works. The Samurai 5 speed bolts to the G13b, pilot bearing fits, everything works. Over the years I have collected: Rebuilt complete G13b from '89 Swift GTi (the good year) Rebuilt 5 speed from Samurai Clutch, fork, etc.. for Samurai Fresh starter and flywheel for Samurai Tailshaft for Samurai (bolted to to transfer case on 4wd) Swift ECU and harness Engine mounts for Samurai NOS 1200 driveline H150 B210 rear end with <18k miles Clean straight '71 Sedan The problem is that the engine is still on blocks, tranny sitting under the bench, starter in its box, car in a tent in the back yard, garage overflowing with sh1t. I need someone to tell me how sick this swap would be and how much of a travesty it is that I am sitting on all this stuff without working on it for all these years. https://plus.google.com/photos/103252963869470055629/albums/5635568608498484273
  8. Figures that I hit the forum after who-knows-how-long and a thread I posted on in '08 is at the top of the list. The wind blew the door of my storage tent open and I saw the front quarter of my coupe.. next thing I know I'm on craigslist and ratsun. Maybe its time to clean up the "shop".
  9. I have the following parts for sale: - '76 B210 automatic transmission, good working order: $25 - '71 1200 A12 and automatic transmission. Complete and in good working order. Recent head work, I think a valve guide seal was installed wrong because it smokes for a second after sustained high rpm. All else is good: $200 - '82 200SX Fuel Injection system, complete with ALL parts and harness, this is the system with the o2 sensor, fits Z series engines directly, L series with modification: $175 - Really lots of other random stuff. Just ask.
  10. Sorry everyone - it is still for sale. Kind of hard to bring myself to open messages. I am committed to selling everything, but the actual process of doing so will be a little painful so bear with me.
  11. Baby number 3 is on the way, job is taking over my life, I think its time for me to move on from the 1200 addiction. I have 4 cars: '72 Sedan - all original, complete, no rust. Fresh A14, 4 speed. New driveline, battery, clutch, exhaust (2 3/8"). This was originally automatic, manual conversion (BIG tunnel). '72 Sedan - Shell only, straight body, good glass '71 Sedan - Rough rolling shell. '72 Coupe - A14, 60A 5 speed, H150 rear. This was my favorite for years. Ugly. I have an original A12/auto combination, A14 short block, 4 hoods, several fenders, 2 sets of doors, several sets of seats, trim, all glass, dashes, clusters, wiring harnesses, drivelines, transmissions, H150/H145 rear ends, wheels, tires, EVERYTHING. This is 6 years of collecting. I have a complete 200SX EFI outfit with o2 sensor, rear disk brake setup, 210 front struts and suspension conversion, the list goes on and on. Ideally I would like to sell most of it together. I will provide pics if required. Will separate major parts. If you live in the NW USA and this sounds interesting send me a message and maybe we can work something out. I want to keep this as simple (and painless) as possible.
  12. I need a really, really, really nice datsun. '68-'73.
  13. Its a total beater. Both of my current 1200's are in better shape and not even close to pretty enough to park on the lot at work. Hes dreaming at that price.. the car looks like a $1k job.
