After the war to end all wars number 2, you could buy the Allison engines from war surplus for penny's on the dollar. I had the chance to buy 3 for $150 total. A big number of them also ended up in West Texas pumping water. I never saw any of the Rolls Royce engines for sale in the states but I know they were hear as some ended up in race cars and boats after the war.
