  1. https://www.facebook.com/events/1174306899261142/ April 17 2:00-3:30 This year Henrico County wants to honor the Z Car by featuring them in one of their "Sunday Afternoon With The Classics" programs. If you haven't been to one of these events yet you're certainly in for a treat. Hosted by the Henrico Country Department of Parks and Recreation, each show focuses on certain make or model, vehicle type, or some joining factor. Attendance is usually in the hundreds which gives you a great chance to show off your Z Car of any model (240z-370z). It's a great partnership between Henrico County which supplies the grounds and facilities and the car enthusiasts who supply the cars to benefit the public with a show. The show will be very visible from Laburnum Ave drawing the public from the busy road. It will be advertised all over the county and online hopefully turning this into a great afternoon with the many Z-Cars! There will also speakers for every generation of Z Car talking about the history of their generation and what drew them to ownership of their cars. Come listen to what all the owners and cars have in common! Light refreshments will be provided. Event is free to all. If you want a windshield card made in advance please message Debbie Cassidy Nolen with your information. Cards can also be made upon arrival.
  2. Was wondering if I could get some advice on a problem I'm having. I Googled but I'm just wondering if maybe it's something funny with these trucks that I'm not familiar with. It starts perfectly and will idle infinitely. Up to a point it drives fine and then it shuts off. If you lay off the gas or go to neutral it'll keep running. Shut it off and let it rest for any amount of time and you might get another 10 miles or you may get 50 feet. I replaced the fuel pump, gas tank, did a tune up, changed the fuel filter, and changed all the vacuum lines. When I changed the vacuum lines the problem went away for probably 50 miles. Timing has been checked. Any advice is appreciated and thanks so much in advance.
  3. I think lining the tank is out of the question. Not only is mine rusty but it looks like it's had years of abuse rock climbing with all the dents in it. I suspect the hole is where several creases from dents meet. If it was in better condition I would consider relining but it has so many other problems.
  4. Right. Thanks for clarifying all that. I understand what you're saying now. I'll create a want ad.
  5. Are all 620 year tanks compatible? I found a 73...but would that fit my 78KC?

    Gas Tank

I was wondering where you can get replacement gas tanks for these trucks. Mine looks like it was the victim of years of rock climbing and a few days after filling it up, half of it has leaked out of several different rust holes, dents, ect. Is the 720 compatible or does anybody have a good one for sale?
  7. Cool. Now that I think of it I have some sheets of sound deadening heat shield material left over from another build. I'll use that!
  8. Probably won't save it. Not to sound lazy but I think I'll leave it in if removing the windows is involved. I understand I can cut the headliner out... But will the bows come OUT with the windows in? (I doubt the truck will see a new headliner with me as the owner... Going for a rat rod type of look.)
  9. Are the handbrake cables for kingcabs longer than the cables on the regular trucks? 1978 620KC.
  10. Don't have enough time to order them in.
  11. I need to finish install on my new brake components this weekend but I've hit a snag. NOBODY in town has the hardware kit for the rear and I would really rather have new hold down springs and pins than to install the old. Does anyone know what other cars used the same pins and or springs at the least?
  12. My Headliner in my 1978 King Cab is shot and I'm thinking of pulling it out. It'll probably be out for a while so I'm asking if there's any wires or structures under it that I will need to tidy up afterwards. Also are there any tips and techniques for removal?
  13. I'm trying to design a stencil to put on the doors of my truck (like a shop truck). I'm not near the truck however so I was wondering if someone could send me dimensions of the doors. I just need the bottom to top (top being where glass starts) and side to side. (1978 King Cab)
  14. I know they don't make one specifically for these trucks but I was hoping another truck of the same era would have the same box/tray. I guess I'll explore creating one.
