  1. I tried a brand new battery. still didn't work. When I turn it over and turn the key off.on quickly before engine stops, it backfires once. I left all the wiring intact but run a jumper from the starter solenoid to the battery so I could turn the engine over myself while wiggling g wires and connections under the hood. I DID indeed have the key to the on position. Heh heh. I have no spark unless I cycle the key back and forth when it sparks only once per on.off. I loosened off the distributor and turned it back and forth in attempt to achieve a better ground to the distributor. . Is there is a piece calle spark ignitor? Is this something that is likely to fail?
  2. Parting out this truck. the box sides are rusted out BUT the center section of the box floor is SOLID. No dents. is this common? Is it worth saving the floor for someone? Could use some input. hope to send box off to scrap as it is no use to me.
  3. I have an 81 2wd king cab. It's been in the family since new so despite the rusty and dent issues, I still harbour some sentimental attachment. ..... I recently decided.to dismantle the truck and find good homes for the parts. While I was underneath the truck un bolting the body, I discovered the frame to be in really nice condition and relatively basic. So.... I got thinking about keeping the chassis for a.project.... it's a nice simple, free of clutter chassis and looks like it could be a handy place to start. maybe a rod.or to put a 720 body back on one day. these trucks are.starting to look more appealing to me these days despite being parked between cool old American cars. does anyone have any advice as to whether this is a good chassis to start with or not?
  4. Hello! I am new here. I have an 81 pickup and have a similar sounding problem. no spark. Power to the coil(s), cranks over, rotor turns.... just no spark. I discovered that when I turn the key on and off, there is a small tiny itsy bitsy single spark. Have you guys any advice?
